BUT................Will it pass?
I got word today from some friends that Legislator John Mills clocked in a new local legislation with the legislature clerk calling for a vote to have any local politician removed from office if he/she is convicted or pleads guilty to misdemeanor or felony charges.
Finally some legislation that could help our community!!!
BUT................Will it pass?
If it weren't for the United States Military, there would be NO United States of America !

Watch how the status quo politicians will use the excuse "We should let the voters decid" on what is ethical or not.
Good going Legislator John Mills if this is true.
Lets make it retro active so we can clean house if there's anyone else that happens to have a few "issues"

Makes you wonder why DR. Barry couldn't have brought this up? But no word from the Barry people.Originally Posted by WNYresident

I say only do it if it's retro active. Don't the government types always try to do thier "labor"contacts retro active? WHy not something like this. We won't have to go through the circus show with George Holt.Originally Posted by TheRightView
One of my trusted political advisors brought this up about Lynn M when we were mentioning the George Holt issue.
What do others think about this? THinking about herself before think about the community. Isn't her job as an elected official to do the best for the community not nessacarily what is best for her at our expense?Lynn can't do anything, lose the black vote if she does, lose the non-dem vote if she doesnt. Black vote is much larger than the non-dem vote.

Res, Your "trusted advisor" only hit on the most superficial of reasons why Marinelli did what she did. Sounds like someone with a political agenda is advising you.
Of course politics played a huge part in her actions, as they do with any politicians. I don't think, though, she"s that interested in getting votes as just not getting sued or worse. She's not omnipotent in her present position in the Legislature.
Laws cannot be "retroactive". Negotiations on contracts are another story alltogether.
Just look at the changes to any criminal code. If you commit a crime today, and the Gov. signs a bill changing the law tomorrow, today's law is controlling.
Most people believe Bucky Phillips deserves the Death Penalty, but until the Assembly approves the new Senate bill and Eliot signs it, it can't be done.
However, does this include a DWI? That is a misdemeanor.
This is just a big Jim Domogalski press release, and he has Mills doing his dirty work. Why is the GOP Chairman in front on this stuff? Does he have his own secret agenda?
You people are all nuts. Politicians don’t care a ducks ass about the people. I find it so funny when I read the posts on this board by the gullible ones who actually think that Government is good and that these political hacks care about them.Originally Posted by WNYresident
Evading the question, and blantantly not answering...with all the years Barry has had in the Leg. why did he not bring it up beforehand and grab to the TV crews to help make it happen? He was everywhere during red/green budget and now with foiled deputy of Amherst.Originally Posted by WNYresident

Could be just timing and someone presented it first. Be grateful someone brought it up.Originally Posted by TheRightView

No, I think that if he wanted it and thought he could get some air time from it, he would have done it...if it wouldn't hurt his chance to run for Amherst town board.Originally Posted by WNYresident
