    Thumbs up

Here are a few others that you might want to consider:

    Franks Grill (Broadway/Bowen in Lancaster)
Marilla Grill (Schwartz Rd, in Marilla Center)
    The Nortel (North and Hertel)
    The Chief's Club (Porter Ave)

    My mouth is watering...

Do any of these establishments serve blue oysters?

I honestly don't know if they serve oysters. (The fish fry's however are great!)

As an FYI, Hooters serves oysters, but I don't know if they're the type you like.

It must be then. The last pizza box I had said, "You've tried the rest, now try the best." That's how I knew it was the best.

Hoaks Closed ? Why ? Last I heard tehy were doing a good business although I haven't been back in town in a number of years.....

Kenmore fish market on Delaware used to sell excellent Haddock fish fry. Used to order it once in a while, ship fed-ex out here to Colorado. Nice variation from grilled trout after fishing trips and remeberence back to old times once in a while.

I didn't know that Hoak's had closed either...

    Going WAY back now...

...does anyone (west side) happen to remember a small seafood restaurant that was called, "Sharkeys?" I believe it was near, or just west of Grant Street, possibly close to Auburn.

Hoak's on Rt. 5 didn't close, Godzilla. Hoak's Armor Inn in Armor did.

I'd like to hear people's opinions of the best Fish Fry in town.

And for you Amherst people - let's try to keep this apolitical, and not use this as a reason to bring up Bing's.
A few years back my parents took us out to a place called the Crow's Nest on either Millersport or Campbell... I guess the joint had a reputation for really, really good fish fries.

We had to wait for an hour and a half and by the time they got to us they were out of fish... Except for some "half size" fish... Wish was okay but nothing to write home about... I didn't get all the fuss...

But that didn't matter because by the time we finally got our fish we had become so toasted from drinking beer that we engaged in a tipsy conversation with the people at the next table and had a pretty good time...

Ahh, getting drunk in Getzville... *Shudder*

    Please remember, drink responsibly.
I'm just here to make people laugh. And to confuse people. Oh, and to irritate people.
