Your politicans at work... - Barbara Miller-Williams

    So...

    $96,739 from the BPD in 2009 (seethroughny.org),
$52,000 from the ECL (working 20 hours or less),
plus an undisclosed amount from the Army Reserve.

Someone isn't working on behalf of the taxpayer here. If you're averaging 60 hours a week with the BPD, how can you possibly effectively do your job as an ECL?
Someone who can't balance a budget probably shouldn't be in a position to spend someone else's money.

why is it ok for a cop to be a politician but not a bar owner?

"I make sure I don't do more than the 20 hours," she said.
Good for her. We're getting our money's worth.

    "I don't think that's unethical, and I don't think that's wrong," she said. "I didn't create these rules. I didn't create the system."
You didn't create the system, but you sure have no problem with it.

The article in the snooze also says she works in "patrol" for the BPD. Can you imagine her trying to run down a 20 year old criminal? She probably has a time in the 100 yard dash of......25 minutes!

What bothers me the most is that the News profiles these pension padders throughout the years - and, nothing changes except we all get more disgusted. Why can't we stop these outrageous abuses from perpetuating?
