There already is a Millard Fillmore site in East Aurora.
Our project pertains to Grover Cleveland.
We started a website--
http://groverclevelandlibrary.org
We are trying to acquire the Fairfield Library in North Buffalo from the City as a location. It was built in 1897, the year Cleveland left office and looks like a museum.
We are also meeting with potential financial backers.
We'll probably have a fundraiser in January to raise funds for a downpayment.
We need all the help we can get.
In all honesty, while the committee is extremely excited about this project, we haven't gotten much positive feedback from the community. I'm puzzled by that. Very, very few cities have a presidential library.
We do oppose a joint library project. Cleveland needs to break away from the "one of the two presidents from Buffalo thing."
