Out of curiosity what do you see as the difficult choices that need to be made that effect the "Survival of our Community"

There are too many that I see, facing not just our community, but many others in the area. Since detail would be difficult in this forum, I'll attempt to be brief and as clear as possible.
    1. Gowth needs to be better planned. It seems as though we build to build because there is a tax base created. We have many empty buildings and stores that could be fitted for new uses. We don't always need to build another empty building.
    2. We are a first ring suburb. I have heard one board member say he felt the WSPD was already overstaffed. This is furthest from the truth. The rise in the crime rate in our area is certain to increase given the loss of jobs in this area.
    3. Many of our volunteer fire companies are having difficulty recruiting new members. How much longer can any town sustain coverage with an all volunteer staff that is aging. Couple this with an economy that forces many people to work multiple jobs to survive, and you have a major issue down the road.
    4. Better management of what the Town already has. It is sad when the Town Board is unable to tell the public how much revenue the Soccer Complex has earned, or even how much is charged for its use.
    5. A more defined hiring practice.

I'll stop there. I guess what I see is a locality that does not seem to have a specific intent to their methods. Particularly Mr. Clark, who will not be missed by this resident.

And if you should crack that shell, you have to fall in line to be effective. Of course, I can only speak based on my experience with Mr. Clark and Town government. My experience has been that he will listen and patronize, give the impression of caring and even ask someone to look into your issue. However, when you uncover facts that prove you're right, and the correct measure might be costly for one of Mr. Clarks contributors, the process is slow to be corrected.
My sincerest hope is that a person is elected, willing to make the difficult choices facing the survival of our community.
Hi: I am not real familiar with the politics in West Seneca but from what the posters have to say, it sure sounds like a change is in order. Good luck to your town in the upcoming election

    To Rumor4WNY and Timothy M.

We have all determined that you two do not like each other. I will be interested to see if you both take your issues outside after the WS Town meeting. Since I have no idea who either of you are, I guess I'll just have to listen for the confrontation.
In the mean time, can we get back to the topic of this thread?

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with her. My impressions, to date, are that a vast majority of people in WS are somehow tied and beholden to Mr. Clark. This opens the likelihood he would still have influence and a level of control. I have been attempting, with my limited free time, to discover if Mr. Clark had to disclose not only his contributors but clients of his firm. I suspect there may have been a number of conflicts of interest over the years with items before the board. Anyone NOT associated with Clark would have my vote.

    Question West Seneca Supervisor

I also believe that the Town of West Seneca needs new leadership; its terrible when Mr. Clark hires his Son In Law to a position of Dog Control Officer at a rate of $54,000.00 per year and is allowed to take a Town truck home with him; to add insult to injury; we now have another person connected that also is a Dog Control Officer Assistant at $54,000.00 per year. Both work on days; so if either is called in after; they are paid overtime. How can the citizens of West Seneca expect there costs to ever go down with this type of hiring. Sad; And the same person wants to be our County Ex. What are your thoughts???????????????

I have no problem with anyone posting anything; I just don't believe in hiding behind curtains; We all need to work together to make our community a better place to live where all citizens will be treated fairly; not just the chosen few; thats the problem no one see's the big picture.

I agree. I was referring to the personal statements between you and rumor4wny. Not the topic of this discussion

    Mr. Clark's family and friends

I have been trying to uncover the full scope of Mr. Clarks friends and family program in West Seneca. If anyone can pass on a substantiated "family tree" of appointees and hires it would be appreciated. However, I will need to be able to verify, in some manner, all of the information received.

Also, has anyone heard of any fallout from the FBI investigation that is allegedly taking place?

I am sorry that people just don't like to hear the truth; rumor4wny can state whatever; Again; I don't hide behind curtains and make statements; Be that as it may; he has his right to say anything he wishs.

the dog officer is clark's brother in law, not his son in law. he has been working for the town since clark took control.

Well here we go again; As listed in the Buffalo News 1-03-07, page B3, Paul Clark takes another raise to $61,258.00; I wonder if his Son in Law the Dog Control Offer received a raise also; trying to get any information from West Seneca is like pulling teeth; If you file a FOIL request the law states they must give you the info or deny you in 20 days; in West Seneca you have to retain an attorney to get anywhere; whats everyone hiding????

FOIA states that they must respond to your request within 20 days. It doesn't say they must give you the information within that time frame. They must either deny your request or respond that they are compiling the information and will send it to you, they go on to ask you to pay for the expense to copy the information. If they respond that they are compiling the information and will send it to you, the clock stops ticking! If they deny your request, then you have recourse.

That's the problem, they acknowledge your request, and once the clock stops so does the search for the information you've requested.
