Violent Buffalo weekend: Eight reported shot, two fatally; one stabbed
OMG will we see mayor erkel going door to door with stop the violence slingers.
Buffalo police reported the shootings of eight men, two fatally, in a wave of weekend violence that apparently began around 6:45 p.m. Friday. Four of the men, including the two who died, were shot between Friday evening and early Saturday.

On Saturday, police also reported three more shootings that presumably happened over the weekend but for which they provided no dates or times. And on Sunday, police reported that a man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound but refused to give them any information about it.

Finally, a man in his 20s was stabbed once in the back on South Division Street near Ellicott Street at about 6 p.m. Saturday, police said. The victim then ran into the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority bus terminal about a block away, seeking assistance.

He was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where police said he was in stable condition late Saturday.

At about 6:45 p.m. Friday, a 23-year-old man was shot on the front porch of a house in the 100 block of Stevens Avenue, north of East Ferry Street. That victim, still alive when police arrived, was rushed to ECMC, where he underwent surgery but died of his injuries, police said.

    • At 10 p.m. Friday, a 26-year-old man was shot when he was approached by unknown people, one of whom was armed with a shotgun, in the 400 block of East Street, off Hertel Avenue. Police said the victim attempted to make it to Kenmore Mercy Hospital in a private car, but the car crashed near Elmwood Avenue and West Girard Boulevard in the Village of Kenmore. The victim was then taken by ambulance to ECMC, police said. The person was shot just blocks from last week's incident in which police fatally shot Hernandez-Rossy, 26, in Black Rock.

    • Just before 11:30 p.m. Friday, a Williamsville man was reported fatally shot inside a vehicle in the 1400 block of East Delavan Avenue, between Bailey Avenue and Eggert Road.
At around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, another 26-year-old man was reportedly critically wounded in a shooting during what police described as an apparent robbery attempt at Niagara Street near Grace Street. Police said two men approached the victim and shot him in the right side of the head. That man was listed in critical condition in ECMC late Saturday night.

    • Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a man with a gunshot wound to his left thigh arrived at the Buffalo General Medical Center for treatment. The man, whom police described as "intoxicated and totally uncooperative," was apparently shot near Jefferson Avenue and East Utica Street.

The dates and times of the following shootings were not provided by police, but all were reported Saturday morning:

    • Police reported that a man with gunshot wounds to both thighs and his penis said he shot himself after arguing with an unknown male at a house party in the 100 block of Courtland Avenue. The victim was taken by ambulance to ECMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

    • Police reported that a man said he was shot in the 100 block of Hewitt Street. He was transported to ECMC for a gunshot wound to the left thigh, which police said was not life-threatening.

    • Police reported that a man said he was shot by unknown persons while walking on East Delavan near Humboldt Parkway. Police interviewed him at a local hospital, which was not listed. The location and seriousness of his injuries were not described.
God must love stupid people; He made so many
