    Cheektowaga ranks 6th on $55,000

Town ranks sixth for American places to live on $55,000

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Town of Cheektowaga was ranked the sixth best place to live in America on a $55,000 a year salary.

The list was compiled by smartasset.com a financial technology company that uses data to provide free, actionable advice on big financial decisions.

The town made their list because our Median housing costs are only $806 per month and we also have the third-lowest poverty rate in the top 10 at 11.1% according to Smart Asset’s research.

To determine the best places to live on a $55,000 salary, Smart Asset looked at factors like the median housing costs, the number of entertainment establishments and civic establishments per 10,000 residents, the quality of local healthcare, the percent of income going to housing and the unemployment rate.

One has to wonder if they included property and school taxes I this....I have to lean towards no.

Which then brings up the question of were they would really palace on that list?

Time to send off a email to find out to clear it up.

    Complete garbage.

The site claims the Tax Cost Difference in Cheektowaga, NY is 1% lower than Charlotte, NY. Which is not even close to being true.

You'll prob see that article on the current council members campaign literature. While we have been in office "The Town of Cheektowaga was ranked the sixth best place to live in America on a $55,000 a year salary."!!! Vote for me!!
