    Thumbs up Pleasantview Dr

It's good to see the county legislator and our town highway superintendent working together to try to remedy the mess that Pleasantview Dr has become.
Not to belittle the complaints from a resident regarding Aurora St but the damage there doesn't compare to that on Pleasantview.

Just loving the cooperation between municipal governments and also just LuvinLife.

Now if only the town would make sure that the proper infrastructure was in place prior to letting all of the development take place...

Charlie is the absolute best guy that you can deal with in Erie county. Unfortunately he doesn't have enough budget to handle the projects that need attention. Otherwise William would have already been widened and i'm sure pleasantview would be as well. After paying the Medicaid bill, there's not much left to spend on roads.

I also have found Mr. Sickler to be a dedicated and caring county engineer.

Until the past several years the town was never interested in road infrastructure (be it town, county or state roads) or in accommodating for the growth they knew was coming. Developers had carte blanche to do as they wanted and to develop the town as they saw fit. Many of the town roads were constructed on the cheap and without town codes that were put in place several years ago. And, we now seem to have a Code Enforcement Officer who seems to give a ****!

Regarding Pleasant View Drive and William Street, the mantra used by past administrations was that they are county roads and not under the town’s jurisdiction.

When the county did have the money the town did not (or have the vision to) petition the county for road improvements and/or their widening. Subdivisions were built connecting them to other subdivisions for traffic by-pass and traffic volume control because there was not enough major north-south or east west roads to accommodate for the building taking place.

It is nice to see County Legislator Ted Morton representing the county and Lancaster Highway Superintendent Dan Amatura working together in attempt to resolve the Pleasant View Drive issue. After all, County Executive Poloncarz has dictated that the county and municipalities share services. Now we shall see if Poloncarz will pony up any money as it is a county road – a two-lane county road overburdened with traffic.

As for William Street, that’s as good as it gets. A two-lane county road with no shoulder and open drainage ditches. What could possibly go wrong?

The town is working on updating the Master Plan – long overdue as it has not been reviewed or revised since its adoption in 2002. Zoning changes are in order and coming. We have had enough rezones and rezones of rezones over the years; rezones that often adversely impacted the property rights of others and/or their quality of life.

What Pleasant View really needs is a longer right turn lane at Transit. It doesnt take much for it to be blocked, which subsequently backs up traffic almost to Stutzman.
