Hammer, Meyers and Rogowski's terms end this year.

Meyers had a fundraiser on April 6th. He must be running

Frankly I don't think much can be done. If Tom, Sandy, me or "fill in the blank" were on the town board it would be 1 against 6 in Cheektowaga's case. 6 from the one social club and someone representing the physical property/business owners best interest.

I knew this is the case when the budget advisory board was basically told labor contracts/healthcare were basically off limits. That sums it up. No meaningful change will happen when it comes to property taxes. I'm assuming the same goes to the monopoly given to the school districts in Cheektowaga.

Saving $200,000 on paper clips, bulbs and/or staples on a 50 million+ budget is basically a waste of time while you allow other items to increase. Come election time you'll see tag lines "We saved $200,000" while not mentioning labor cost increasing by that amount or more. See what I mean?

Here's the issue. It's all friends and family. They don't want change.

I'll say this. If I was on the town board the meetings would be far more interesting than they are now. I would have absolutely no issue calling out BS from any other board member during the meeting. I could picture the next work session.

Board member "Tony, how could you embarrass me like that"

Tony "Start representing the property/business's best interest and we'll see how the next meeting goes"

So is anyone new running against the "club members"?

Might be fun to work on some campaign literature for them. Just state the truth. Let the group own the situation they have put our town in. We are one of the highest taxed areas in the USA.

We could have fun with this:

Delete the current words and insert the truth.

While Jim and crew have been in office how many people fled out town?

While Jim and crew have been in office how many properties have become vacant?

While Jim and crew have been in office how much have labor budgets increased?

While Jim and crew have been in office how much have property taxes increased?

We can put the answers right on that sign he's holding.

Jim might be a good guy but that is irrelevant when it comes to the cost of living in our town.

This came in the mail last week.

Might be a good course to attend before one decides to get into politics

It's Alice, Rogowski and meyers running for re-election. As far as I know there aren't any challengers yet that I have heard of.
