Isnt feul pump on the right side when your facing the motor - or are you using electric - I believe they did run it around behind the carb ? As you know being above the water pump/under the alternator is a heat sandwich - I vote reroute !:D

Yeah. I noticed they took a short cut when it came to routing the line. The pump is on the right and you know the heat is intense in that area. Plus I don't like the line touching the block like that.
Years ago I borrow someone my snap on tube bender/flange tools and never got them back. I'm gonna have to look over the situation. Re-routing looks like the way to go.
But then there is this come spring time but I won't. I would have to also get a matching distributor so that the computer could control the timing and the electric fuel pump. These require more pressure than the mechanical pump. It never ends with toys.

It will be turned into a refrigerated beer delivery truck for a local company
The smaller original engine will be replaced with a Chevy small block
Should be ready in a month or so
Here is what we ended up with. They bent the line somewhat to give more space from the engine block and insulated it from the fuel pump to the fuel filter.
I still stall occasionally...
Time to play with the mixture... I may be running a touch too lean.
I listened to some old timers who said to make the fuel mixture a little richer.
Nice to work on stuff like this when it's all clean.
The air/fuel mixture screws are on either side of the carb opposite of each other.
I was told to increase both by 1/2 a turn and see how the engine idles once it is warmed up.
Come spring I think I'm going to change out the rubber host and clamps with something a little cooler.
Something more like these instead of the rubber fuel lines

I think the white one is a Anglia -
Ford Anglia

The 1949 model, code E494A, was a makeover of the previous model with a rather more 1940s style front-end, including the sloped, twin-lobed radiator grille. Again it was a very spartan vehicle and in 1948 was Britain's lowest-priced four-wheel car.[5]
An Anglia tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1948 had a top speed of 57 mph (92 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-50 mph (80 km/h) in 38.3 seconds. A fuel consumption of 36.2 miles per imperial gallon (7.8 L/100 km; 30.1 mpg-US) was recorded. The test car cost £309 including taxes.[5]
Including all production, 108,878 were built. When production as an Anglia ceased in 1953, it continued as the extremely basic Ford Popular until 1959.
