awww, sorry for your loss Winnie!! :(
I kinda sorta know how you feel. Back when I was a big baseball fan I had some great times at and memories of Old Comiskey Park. Even though I hadn't followed baseball for a while when it was torn down, I was still so sad!!
shoulda been made a landmark. hard to believe the "house" is gone :(
Even being a Yankee hater.
It will be sad not to see the Stadium on my drives down The Major Deegan.
Thanks all , it was quite the show last night as the team walked around the still packed stadium after the game , I had tears in my eyes , just shows how old we're getting when we get sentimental over a baseball structure , but it's been my favorite "hobby" in life , loving the Yankees & their "home"..........thanks to all non-Yankees fans for the undestanding , you guys are great.....;)
As a lifetime die-hard Yankee hater, I have to admit one thing -- If the history and winning, is a measure of success, then the Yanks, are, by far, the most successful franchise in the history of sports.
Number 2 is doing an excellent job of carrying on that tradition.
I love the way he'll continue to have Bob Sheppard announce him for the rest his career. I had Bob Sheppard as a Professor in college, by the way. A classier guy, you will never meet.
The game last night was great. I'm even glad they won.
thanks rising , I'm kind of excited that the Mets are going to be our Buffalo Bison's "Parent Club" , I really like the black , blue , & I believe a hint of orange in their uniforms , I hope they bring that here , I'll buy a Bison's jersey then for sure...........Jeter is really a classy "superstar" , if there's such a thing , I sure pray that Sheppard gets better , doesn't really sound like he will be back but he wants too.........what did he teach in college ?Quote:

I spent quite a bit for two seats at the end of June on the Yankee side , up about 30 rows from first base..........can you imagine what the seats were going for last night ?Quote:

But they left one out. If someone wears an opposing teams jersey into the bleachers, the bleacher creatures don't just taunt him -- they sing to him. :)
Long live Fenway!!
