Okay, this recent John Rosemond article for some reason ticked me off to no end. A lot of what he says does make sense, but I think his little tidbits of advice at times sound a bit draconian and like words coming from a self-righteous meanie who thinks that cruelty and denial is somehow "better"...
I don't know how people with twins do it. I am babysitting my nephew who is just a month apart from my youngest. They don't stop!
I have been seeing this more and more over the years. More prevalent in women than men. What I have noticed is women getting this after giving birth. Any correlation to that? Does medication every really work?
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704111504576059713528698754.html#articleTabs%3Darticle What do you think? Do you think Amy Chu takes tough love too far? I think it's a bit much but a more water downed version could work.
Is it just me, or is every child from the age of 6 years and up equipped with a cell phone and texts???!!!! Here is what I saw get off the bus just the other day. Kids being dropped off at the bus stop obviously going home, all of the kids had their phones out and they were texting!! Now I...
I found this interesting article on NPR's website. It's with Temple Grandin, a women who has autism and is now a vet. She has written books about living with autism and how to deal with it. This women is so fascinating. The article is really long.. if you'd rather listen here's the link...
Just curious. I know what the news paper and statistics say about all the school districts. I'm just curious what actual parents have to say about them. 1) how is district with providing special ed services? 2) how are they with handling discipline? I've heard clarence and springville...
We have a large family. What makes it so large is because it is a blended family. During the holidays, it is a magic act to pull it off without hurt feelings because of so many family members. My question is, if you have a blended family, how do you manage the family during the holidays...
I guess that is the equivalent to "if you're bad you are going to Father Baker's" in my generation. My parents never said that because my grandparents worked for Baker Hall as house parents for a group home and it meant that we were going to see gramma and granpa. Instead we knew that if we were...
I am curious to opinions here ... we all realize that if a parent is a jerk - pays no attention to their child - or abuses them that the chances of them turning out not so great is pretty good ... but are all "bad" kids raised by bad parenting? what are your thoughts on this? curious here...
Is Working Full Time (9 to 5) with Kids in Daycare Actually EASIER Than Working Part Time? I've started to ask myself this question. Since having kids I've always worked part time and relied on my in laws to babysit a few days or nights a week. My husband works an odd rotating schedule so I...
More and more dads are opting to stay at home. This isn't really anything new but it's happening more. Women are becoming better educated and more often are bringing home a higher income. Or men are being laid off and opting to stay at home with the kids while their wives work. Do we have...
Just wondering what per centage of people actually vote.
If anyone wants to add anything please feel free. 1) look for ways in the morning before school to get out energy. A mini trampoline is handy to have in the house. They have safety ones that fold up or blow up ones. Use a timer and have the child jump on it for 10 minutes before school. 2)...
I hope nobody is getting annoyed about all my awareness threads about different disorders. This one is about something that effects me personally.. It's hard for me to explain it. So i am going to do my best to explain it.. When thinking about the senses you automatically think about the...
so either way - I know a lot of people who have adopted children and babies domestically and internationally - would you? If you could afford it - would you either way? why or why not?
I was wondering if anybody heard about this. I was thinking about sending a box of diapers if they were excepting any kinds of donations or if their are charities to help. I don't know if they even need anything. Does anybody have information on this?
Curious as to your take on this .... woman adopts a baby into her home and then due to bonding issues, disrupts the adoption and find him a new home after 18 months .... What are your thoughts? disrupted adoption
 and i thought bratz dolls where bad.. btw these are real toys
What do you think of parents who use electronic toys as babysitters? One thing I find odd is the amount of time kids now play on electronic games versus being outside in some cases etc... You can go out to eat or just out and kids are addicted to their gameboys or what ever the fad is now..
I'm not talking about beating your kids. But i don't see anything wrong with an old fashion spanking, depending on the kid. (a spanking doesn't work with my son, only t.o.s work, but my daughter it works. How do you feel about spanking in public?
