It is not just the paychecks, it is the perks/benefits and major over-time for some departments. Things are going to get worse too because they have written their own retirements and benefits for decades.
I tried to get a forensic financial audit but could not get a second. Why not?

Because they are still riding the gravy train in the orange crate even though it pulled out in 1983. And they have a good comptroller who knows how to dance! As far as our internal audit, we pay them $17,000/yr so .......

I am so glad to sit on the sidelines and say I had nothing to do with it when they.......:)! And they all..........:)! I tried my best to stop the mismanagement of public funds, and abuse of governmental powers, but........I trust God and know he is hard at work changing Lackawanna!

Major problem?
Lackawanna has much bigger problems than my property, and I am not the first person to have financial problems. City officials who have great jobs and have property foreclosed on also have problems. If I had the money it would get paid. If polanski and company would not have told the homeless guy to do a number on me on the TV I would have had the property sold and all paid off. Instead they scared away the man who gave me an offer to purchase it in Nov. 2007 all to try to defame me and force me out of office.

The real problem is Corruption, it is the real major problem along with the abuse of governmental power.:( It has been for decades and decades on the backs of innocent citizens.
Rewarding a buddy of a city official with a city paid grass cutting job on private property , to do a dastardly deed is a major problem, don't you think!?
Tip, be careful judging someone without knowing all the facts.

Council President Jaworski: Changed his address ILLEGALLY to get lower assessment.

Yes these are the same power hungry guys who "hammered" Ms.Haxton for not paying taxes because of economic difficulty and made her life miserable.

Look up see how much Mr.Petricca makes as city attorney then add his private practice income.

Mr.Jaworski gets his salary from the city plus a pension check from FORD and I would thing his wife works up on top of it.

Let's see someone who has no money because her buisness failed thanks in part to a city barricade or somebody who has the money and cheats on their taxes anyways and nothing is done about it. Who is the real problem???

No one has the right to hammer anyone for inability to pay bills when they are not in a position to rectify the problem.Many people have said that to City Hall staff who make such comments.

I hope that when I am Mr. Petricca's age I will look as good and be as sharp. I do not care about Mr.Petricca's looks or temperment. What I care about is that he is not doing his job properly and costing this city a fortune in outside legal fees.Why is that? Why would you agree to be an LMHA attorney when you can't even do the job you have? GREED? COVER UP??Also his interpretation of the charter is a joke. Ut-oh......bad mouthing won't get him to the top, especially one of his own. Not good on Chuck's part if this is true. After reading the newspaper about last nights meeting, it sounds more like he is hurting his own chances all by himself. He doesn't have to bad mouth Geoff....he already lost the whole first ward last night.

I do have a question as to what I saw on the news tonight. If Chuck "agrees" that people should have 5 minutes to address the Council, why in the world did they vote to decrease it at the last meeting? 5 yeas! Sounds like the fish jumped out of the water again and he is desperate to save himself.

Another question. Why does the city post the agenda on the website AFTER the fact. Maybe if people were able to see the "lack" of agenda items, they wouldn't have standing room only. "Upcoming Council Meeting Agenda" was not on line yesterday. Minutes from January 4th meeting is a big BLANK, just checked it again.
