Any idea who the ec ip party is going to endorse for governor? Is it possible to take Tony Orsini to lunch and "explain" to him who the party should endorse? :)

They already endorsed Spitzer. That was done by the state Committee in June.

When it comes to the Governor race, it is a very touchy subject. If any minor political endorses the wrong candidate they can effectively cease to exist. Every party must get at least 50k votes in the governors race or they lose party status for the next 6 years! So going with Spitzer is the safe way to make sure you will remain as a party.

It seems Res, that FJB is already corrupt because he doesn't support the guy you'd like to see be endorsed(ie. anybody but Spitzer); who knows what further corruption maybe down the line with FJB at the helm.

If he would like spitzer why would that make him corrupt? Anyone can have any opinion they like.

True but do you know the real reason he is backing...he said it would be political suicide not to....is not standing up for your principles a 24/7 thing...he tries to make it look so but he is already backing Spitzer because he wants to lead the IP party which could cease to exist if they didn't back Spitzer. Corruption starts small then gets big...it's never big to start off with. How can you clean house if you don't go against the majority; that is if you believe the current staus quo to be so corrupt.

It was said the state party decids who they back. Isn't it out of the control of the local IP leaders?

I have never said I want to lead the Party. You are out of your mind. I do know where you got that from. ORSINI!!! He thinks because I sent out a letter to IP members in Hamburg that I want control of the county. That's the farthest thing from the truth. I would like to be Chair of Hamburg and haven't kept that a secret. As far as Spitzer goes, call Frank McKay, the IP State Chairman. It's his fault Spitzer received the IP endorsement!!! It is however the smart play!!

Um, FJB, even you should know that a gubernatorial term is 4 years. They could lose official party status for 4 years, not 6.

Yes, we should let FJB pick judges. Great idea!

The pesky first amendment to the US Constitution lets all people say pretty much whatever they want (Holmes had a problem with that whole "fire" in a crowded theater thing, but I digress), so local IP folk need not walk in lock-step with the state, but the fact remains that the state party dictates who runs on their party line, so irrespective of what local leaders may or may not want, Eliot Spitzer will be the candidate on the IP line for governor this year.

Perhaps I went a little overboard with saying you want to lead the ECIP but 9 times out of 10 the person who is crusading against another person usually wants the position for him/herself.

See the smart play smacks of corruption because it is all politics.

Hey FJB:

You're the one always posting BOE reporting information on this site.

Word is out that your boss, Senate Candidate Lenny Roberto, never filed a Campaign Committee formation form and paperwork, and has not filed any of the pre-primary reports.

Doesn't he believe in filing these, like he doesn't believe in paying taxes?

FJB, after you see this illegal activity is true, will you still be his (Roberto's) Campaign Chairman?

Maybe LR applied for the same exemption that prominent Democrat George Holt used to not file reports for a year.

But when LR does file them, I bet they won't be missing any pages.

Now that you see that it's true, you're a ghost.

OK, you got me on that one.

I think Demone learned the ropes from Holt.

BUT, it doesn't excuse Rev. Lenny Roberto from not filing to form hid Campaign Committee, or from filing his pre primary reports.

Where are they?

Where is Ford, complaining that they're not filed?

Why are you giving me such a hard time?

These are the questions that keep me typing, late at night....

Why are you giving me such a hard time?

These are the questions that keep me typing, late at night....

Because it's so easy, when you set yourself up.

Asking where is Ford?

Where is Frank Clark's indictment of Holt for
not filing his reports
filing them missing information
accepting donations from a company he was swinging County business to

Why was there there no investigation of the County Chairman so destitute that he couldn't afford to pay his taxes, but could somehow afford a golfing vaca in LA.??

Did someone or some company pay for that?
Did that same company or person sponsor the political fundraiser for Holt in LA.
Why would citizens of Louisiana attend and contribute to the political campaign of an Erie County elected official.

Frank Clark doesn't sit here on this site, railing every politician for being even one day late with BOE filings.

Believe me, I'm no fan of either one, but apples are apples, and.....

Biker, just because FJB swings the same way you do; doesn't mean you have to back everything he does or say. It's just more proof that when FJB has a vendetta against anyone he'll do whatever it takes to get even(whether the supposed wrongdoing is real or imaginary.) He'll only call out people when it is beneficial to him, not when it is beneficial to the community. Not as many people can be as light on their feet(or their loafers( or dancing shoes, etc.), whichever you feel describes you) as you.

so now roberto is ok because holt dod it too. good old boys changing faces or what. I dont care who does it if it is wrong its wrong dont justify one wrong because someone else did it first, thats like saying its ok to rob a train because jesse james did it first. If roberto and holt are wrong then I dont want either one. espesially some one who thinks he Is too good to pay taxes

OK, home for the evening. Roberto filed his report on the final day. The state BOE has to send him the software and password to electronic file. His paperwork is considered on time. Blame the fact that it is missing from the web on the speed of the BOE, who incidentally are hired by party bosses with patronage!!!

OK, Rez, I've read this a few times now, and I'm still missing something.

I posted something mentioning Frank Clark as a response to Biker complaining about him (Clark) not prosecuting George Holt.

I don't give anything for or about Clark, as that's a whole other story. I was talking about FJB and Lenny Roberto not filing BOE reports.

Are you defending them?

biker

Not at all Granpa. I don't think any of them is right.

But here's why I brought HOlt and Smith up.

This BigDork guy (must be an operative of Voelker) has been all over LR. Mostly with rumors we now know to be lies.

I don't like that.

LR may have missed his filings. I don't know. But I know he is new to this, so I cut him a little slack.

Smith and Holt, by contrast, are veterans. Holt was Chairman of the Legislature. And he had something to hide. And he tried to hide it and we caught him.

But nothing has happened to Holt in spite of his active effort to deceive.

So I think before BigDork gets torqued (Jesse would be proud of my rhyming, doncha think??) about LR failing to file his maiden (and probably real light) campaign report, he should be yelling for the heads of Holt and Smith.

OK Biker.

I would agree to "cut a little slack" if LR was a first time candidate.

BUT HE'S NOT.

He ran for County Executive in 1995 (as an Independence candidate, I think.). He ran for the State Assembly before that, as an Independence party candidate. And he ran for the State Senate as a Democrat a few years ago, against Mary Lou Rath.

No he's not exactly new to this.

He just wants to hide where his $$ is coming from, or going.

And me telling lies?

Let's review. Everything I said was true.

1.) Satish asked LR to pull his radio ads. (See the Channel 7 tape spot on their site.)

2.) Until recently, LR lived in the basement of his church. Now, FJB says he lives in Alden. OK.

3.) Until yesterday, and only after being called out on it, LR didn't file his reports.

Since this blew up, now Satish says he is neutral. Fine.

But no one but LR and his Manager, FJB, said he was pressured, or threatened, or anything about $$. They made that all up, to look better.
