Enough is enough. If something isn't done now, the trend of double digit tax increases will become the norm.
What we need is an effective tax protest.
Not paying your taxes could put you in jail.
Not spending any money in New York will hurt the small businessman.
Does anyone have ideas?

With just cause, can residents sue their local leaders? We now have proof Pataki lied about how deep in the hole we are. If he didn't lie, then he's not qualified for his position. One doesn’t miss billions in over spending or allows it. Let’s see he gets $179,000 for his salary and his wife skims $200,000 part time from “consulting fees”.
This was taken from http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0318/schanberg.php
“As in most of this governor's unorthodox dealings, money is at the heart of it, usually money that goes into his campaign chest in return for lucrative state contracts and other favors. Of course, Pataki denies there is any connection. His wife, Libby, earns $200,000 or more a year from part-time consulting contracts given to her by companies that either receive state contracts or give major campaign money to the governor. She thus earns more than the governor, whose salary is $179,000.”
Notice the people that negotiated the union contracts, salaries of elected positions, healthcare contracts, have totally boned the resident? They didn’t have any limits on what those cost could be.
Basically what we have here is, you support my labor cost increase and we’ll vote to keep you elected. You keep voting your salaries higher to offset the tax increases our labor contracts cost you. Which leaves the little resident stuck with the growing bill.
Exactly how does someone like Mayer Masiello justify over $125,000 a year and all the benefits? Same goes for the rest higher ups we have in local/county government. The proof is in the pudding to the mess they have created for us.
If I was skimming those type of salaries I wouldn’t care what taxes were seeing the following year we would just vote myself another raise to offset the cost increase I gave away.
Am I the only one feeling gutted by the people in power?

I am still trying to figure out how King Joel I lowered my property taxes as he promised he would do, or not seek re-election. Well, he is seeking re-election and my property taxes have not gone down the promised 30%. Have anybodys gone down by the 30%? I would bet that if they have it is all smoke and mirrors, just like his consolidation plan, which does not exist. I think that the best idea would be to not re-elect King Joel I.
