The 2006 Engineering Society of Buffalo will be holding it's annual 5K Scholarship Race on Wednesday, August 9th, 2006. The race starts at 7:00 PM, and will be held at JP Bullfeathers restaurant. Entry fees are $18 with pre-registration, and $20 on race day. Finish Line by WNY Finish Line Services. As before, the registrants will get nice designer sweatshirts.
The Engineering Society of Buffalo supports academically qualified graduating high school seniors majoring in engineering at either SUNY Buffalo, ECC or NCCC through the Scholarship Program. Since the inception of the scholarship awards in 1950, over 130 scholarships have been awarded. Total amount distributed is over $10,000 annually. Scholarships are primarily funded by the annual Scholarship Run. Last year's Scholarship Run had 245 participants; with all funds going to the scholarship, it raised over $5000.
