So as ovens go what is considered a good oven for someone who likes to cook. Most even heat, burner size etc...

guess it depends on the type of cooking you do.
This site might help. It gives pros and cons to each type of stove.

I'm hoping to do a kitchen remodel soon and I'm going to try to fit a GE Monogram pro into the budget. Gas cooktop, electric/convection ovens.

We just purchased a Blue Star oven (made in PA) 6 months ago and love it. Even heat with burners that can be adjusted for simmering. Easy tear down for clean up. Restaurant style oven for your home.. :)

K-Kitchens (Jamie) in Cheektowaga is where we purchased ours.

30" Custom Sealed Burner Range - VGCC
Looked at this one (http://www.vikingrange.com/consumer/products/product.jsp?id=prod8540184)
I simply can't justify $4600 bucks for a stove.
The current stove we have now has an issue with the front control panel. Seems the heat over the years ruined it and now the electronics don't work all the time. I might just see if I can order a replacement unit and repair it.
I think the appliances they make now are basically junk. Well unless you spend $1000's :) But then again that theory doesn't work either. My mom purchased a $3000 dollar stove and the repair guy has been there 3 times in the first year. What I do like about my mothers stove is the extra large burners. Water boils way fast.

I've dealt with K-Kitchens. I was pleased with their service.
Do they still have that beautiful Presa Canario (dog)?

I need a new oven. The one I own is used and it's older than me, I hate it.
Where do you find the best deals on ovens? I really don't need anything fancy, just something I could make healthy dinners in and is easy to clean. Easy to clean being the biggest thing.

Try AP Wagner on George Urban. I don't think K&bUnltd sells parts. AP Wagner does parts and service sales. I have a pain the butt Magic Chef built in that has had some issues. I have always been able to get parts from AP, although in a couple of cases they had to order them in.

Yes, I love Jamie's dog! Cannot remember his name but he is huge and loves to play. He almost knocked me over first time I met him. :)

Seriously, ask him about Blue Star. He may be able to get a used one for a decent price as well.

Can't justify a new stove when this is the part that needs replacing...
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonyolm/3977089163/" title="Stove part by tonyolm, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3240/3977089163_1dac509cd1.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Stove part" /></a>
Tried to get it locally but Apwagner and another place don't stock or order the part anymore.
$138.00
$18 for one new ignitor
$12.95 for 2 say shipping/handling.
Little cheaper than a new stove.

Self cleaning oven is what you want. I replaced my electric cooktop and tiny wall oven with a new electric range with a self-cleaning range that I just love!!! It has a glass top, which is somewhat of a pain to clean, but not nearly as much as a gas range top/or electric with traditional elements since I don't have to take the darn stove top apart to get at the crumbs and crap that inevitably fall into the burners!
Many people don't like electric because it's not "instant heat" on the burners, but I can live with that. Electric ovens are much more accurate than gas ones, however, and since I'm a baker, that's what I want. Besides, the wiring for the range was already there and the gas wasn't.

I said that myself a couple of months ago when I shelled out $54 to get my dryer fixed. Well, it died again Sunday night (new problem), so the new dryer is coming Friday.

My dryer is 20 years old & a GE. The timer is gone but they can't get a part for it so I just push the start button & set my little hand timer for 20 + minutes & keep checking the clothes.
