City man spared jail in molestation cases
By Matt Gryta
NEWS STAFF REPORTER

Angelo Jacobi, a Buffalo restaurant worker, was spared a jail term Wednesday by State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski on guilty plea to sexually molesting three teenage girls who answered his employment advertisements for a proposed Buffalo bar last year.

The judge ordered Jacobi, 48, a cook at one of his family’s local restaurants, to continue sexual counseling with a court-accredited therapist rather than the person he has been seeing since his April 9 sodomy-related guilty plea and pay $1,370 in court fines within six months.

Jacobi, who pleaded guilty April 9 to third-degree felony criminal sexual act and misdemeanor forcible touching, declined to comment. But his attorney, Thomas J. Eoannou, told the judge that his client is apologetic “for the problems he caused the girls.”

At the request of prosecutor Rachel L. Newton, the judge issued orders of protection to all three victims, including two who came to court. The orders direct Jacobi, of Southside Parkway, to stay away from them for at least the next eight years.

Michalski allowed Jacobi to work as a cook in his family’s restaurants but barred him from ever again conducting job interviews for any businesses.

The judge also advised Jacobi, who was convicted in 1984 of the rape of an underaged girl, that he is now a state-registered sex offender.

Newton said Jacobi ran ads in May 2009 touting jobs available as his proposed Roaring ’20s restaurant. In September, he was indicted for molesting three girls after supplying them with alcohol when they came to be interviewed for jobs.

Jacobi should be in jail and forbidden to work anywhere a teenagers is working. People will get jail time for having marijuana but this guy can be a pedophile and get away with it.

Whose harming society more?

I'm betting that if one of the victims had been the judge's daughter, he would see things differently.

A convicted rapist/ molester belongs in prison along with the other diaper-snipers.

I guess she never saw the signs that guy put(s) up all over town decrying the unfairness of a certain judge towards fathers in custody suits.

I went to to court with my ex-land lord a few months ago, who was claiming that I owed him 1700 bucks. My receipts say I owed him about 250 bucks.

He showed up with this spreadsheet that had no backing to it, I with my receipts, and he won. The Judge never even looked at my receipts and cancelled checks!!!!

With court costs, he got a judgment for over 3 grand!!

Why?? I represented myself.

I don't know if I agree with you that obama is to blame. I think jesus said to love your enemies long before obama came around. I don't blame jesus either.
I don't buy into that whole NEW WORLD ORDER theory.

I do however agree with you about dude's balls being chopped off.

I just wanna know, if I move back home, wait til I'm 80 and start bangin' teenagers, will I still be able to get away with it, or does my family just need to own a restaurant that the judge probably hits up for Happy Hour every day?

You'll probably get away with it. I wonder how much they paid the judge or how many pizza's they sent in to the court house. Although jacobbi's pizza is nasty and maybe the agreement was for them to never send a pizza again to that judge and the guy would be let off.

I know that the Fed courthouse at least gets their stuff from Prima on Chippewa. After eating that crap for almost a week straight I'd be happy to never go back. I dont' think Judge Arcara ever hits on their employees though.

Hip, if you're 80 and can keep up with the teenagers, more power to you

Your right I am. My idea of a fun night out is going to my friends house and baking cookies. (I'm half joking half serious because we actually have done that before)
