Why are they putting this piece of CRAP on the waterfront? WHere's Higgins?

Go read the Story in the Buffalo News (http://www.buffalonews.com/cityregion/story/705906.html)

Buffalo’s Planning Board has given developers the green light to move forward with controversial plans for a waterfront hotel.

In a 4-1 vote Tuesday, the board concluded that a revised color scheme has “softened” the appearance of the proposed Erie Basin Wingate Inn.

But Frank Lysiak, a waterfront resident and a member of the Waterfront Village Advisory Council, said the buff-colored exterior with silver-gray speckles does not do enough to improve the project.

I think he has been planning a fundraiser for hizzoner, ensuring that these types of projects will become common fare for all. Either that or he's still "working" on getting that skyway down, giving support to Israel and/or wearing his pants too high thereby cutting off circulation to what is left of his pathetic brain.

Who's project was larger? Pitts or the actual private developer?

I was told the other project is basically just a parking ramp with a glass roof, no hotel etc...

Plus which one would generate more tax revenue?

Whaaat? Do you mean Pitts v. Ciminelli? If so, Ciminelli.

Where do you see a parking ramp? Don't beleive the disinformation.

Evidently I don't know what your talking about but, (rule of thumb) the more expensive project would generate more taxes (due to higher assessment). This does not take into consideration any tax abatements, etc.

That is nice, but they want to put THAT on the water front?

If i lived in those townhouses i'd be pissed!

What? Why? It's not as if businesses don't exist there already, or a restaurant or miles of surface lot parking, countless condos, etc.

but with this size of a building, their going to lose their complete view of the water.
