I suggest that any Sabre involved in sports gambling with Rick Tocchet come forward.

I don't care if they're gambling and I don't see what the big hullaballoo is about for anybody but Tocchet. Nobody bet on the NHL.
The only reason I have a problem with Tocchet running the show was the mob connection. There is nothing good that can come from that.

Its all about theire position ! One cannot be Coach, in a sports field, betting on other sport games...Sorry that just doesn't work out well. It's a matter of time before these coaches begin to bet on there own teams...and sorry Tocchet did have some NHL player bettting on the NHL games...its under ruther invesitgation that's why he's being indited soon....

When did the evidence come out that Tocchet had NHL players betting on the NHL? If any NHL player bet on the NHL it would be a different story. That's against NHL rules. It is not against NHL rules to make a wager on any other sport.

I do know that Gretzky's story checked out. Even if it didn't, I would have no problem with him betting on other sports.

The issue is that Tocchet was a bookie, and that he had mob connections. THAT can lead to corruption of the game.

A $500, $5,000, or even a $50,000 bet won't do that. Remember, these players are millionaires. $50 grand is chump change to them.

Why haven't the other NHL players been named that placed bets with Tocchet? Is the NHL trying to sweep this under the table until after the season ends in June?

They haven't been named because they've done nothing wrong. It is not illegal to bet on other sports while playing in the NHL.

It is illegal to place bets through organized crime.

The players did not place bets through organized crime. They placed their bets through Rick Tocchet, who may or may not have been connected to the mafia. At first it looked like he was, now I'm not so sure.

Tocchet is the only one who did something wrong.
