I am looking to buy a riding lawn mower, I have about .80 of an acre a little hilly (not bad at all) but not completely flat. Not doing anything else for it..

What are some good models out there for around $1k-1500, good places to buy (I can go anywhere)

I saw one at sears that wasn't to bad for $1,162.00 had an automatic transimission, looked pretty good...

Only thing i can find is they all are basically made by MTD, http://www.mtdproducts.com So is there an incetive to buy a more exspensive product since they are all made by MTD?

And the craftsman and Huskee look identical and look very similar to cub cadet??

This is the craftsman i was looking at..

Yep, they're all basically made by one manufacturer here in the USA.

Even the "Swedish" Husqvarna I bought was made here.

They just change the sheet metal and decals.

So go wherever you can get the best deal. For me, it was 0% Financing on a Loews credit card for 12-Months. They even let me borrow their delivery truck to get it home for only $20 bucks!

I have a Troy Built 17.5 HP 42 inch deck riding mower...used it 2 seasons on less then an acre. I paid 1200, make an offer if interested. It is pretty new, cant think of any problems with it. Its only about 2 yrs old. Just sitting behind my garage (covered of course, it was kept inside during winter months)...PM me if u or anybody else interested...

I actually went to sears and they had the wrong price tag on a better mower, I didn't realize this untill I picked it up yesterday. I went in and talked to the salesman and then the managaer so they ended up giving me a better mower for the same price ($700 difference)

Before I bought it i went to every store, lowes, Home Depot, tractor supply, some local hardware stores and I couldn't find another tractor with all the options for a price close to that at sears (now i know why).

They actually took care of it and was pleasantly supprised:D
