Talk about getting boned. Pass it on a Friday afternoon and have a clause that guarantees no layoffs. Time to replace them with a new group of CIVIL SERVANTS!!!!

You can bet that the new financial control board will not have the power to change it. That just shows what good the financial control board will be. ..........CIVIL SERVANTS, now there is a time worn phrase, that is overstated.

There has to be something on the Federal level to protect the common resident when this happens.

Anyone know how long people like meegan has been in power? And also what type of salary does a person like him take?

A financial control board doesn't have as much bite in it as I wanted to believe. I think the News said that at least in NY State, a control board has yet to overturn contracts, although it was mentioned that this could happen here. I would have liked to have seen a few more independent people on this board. Maybe they can do some decent work, track record in the state seemed to show some success in the other 3 cities that went through with it.

It really is pretty damn disgusting that it has to come to this point. I moved out of the area a decade ago, only returning last fall. The signs were there a decade ago......I just find it hard to believe that problems are allowed to fester year after year.

The citizens of Buffalo and WNY need to finally stand up and be counted. Pull a different friggin lever on Election Day for crying out loud.

I lived near Baltimore for most of the past decade. Yes, they have their problems, and I would get the newscasts from Harrisburg, and yes they have their own set of problems as well, but it's not this all-encompassing black cloud like it is here.

Like I stated on the News board.....change will only come here when new leadership is installed. Leadership whose firm committment is to the residents of this city and county. People from outside the political realm of this area, those not connected to this Tammany Hall crap that we see here. Bust the unions if it comes to it. This Meegan character makes me want to puke as much as Rumore did. And Rumore was in charge back before I moved from here!

The political "leadership" here is disgusting. Look out how many of them here pass from one family member to another, the Gorskis, the Raths, the Hoyts.....and doesn't Giambra have a brother or some relative running the streets dept?

I witnessed a SUNY hearing years ago, and Mary Lou Rath sat in her seat for 2 hours impersonating a mime!

How do these people get re-elected????? They have to be paying someone off, either that or the brain-drain here has been worse than mentioned in the media. Dale Volker.....he's been in office for 30 some years I believe. These become lifetime appointments to these people. They don't fear losing their jobs. This area has created a great track record for lifetime politicians.

That has to end, it has to end this November. No excuses at the ballot box......don't turn into some softie as you're ready to pull the lever and say "gee, it ain't my guy, he ain't so bad."

Enough of the BS, let's start fundamental changes here, in EVERY town in Erie County, not just the city.....let's throwout the bum dogcatcher who is up for re-election in Bowmansville. Take it to that extent.
