Oktoberfest at the Central Terminal
Picnic on the Plaza III: An Oktoberfest Celebration!
Buffalo, New York September 6th, 2005: The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation (CTRC) is very pleased to announce that it is sponsoring Picnic on the Plaza III: an Oktoberfest Celebration on Saturday, September 24th from 5 pm to 11pm at the Central Terminal on 495 Paderewski Drive in Buffalo. There will be a $5 admission fee at the door. All proceeds benefit the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation.
In true German tradition, Oktoberfest is planned as close as possible to the first day of autumn, September 21st. You can’t make it to Munich this year? You are in luck! Join the CTRC and friends as we enjoy a slice of Munich in our very own biergarten in the main concourse! Food, authentic German beers, soft drinks and official Central Terminal merchandise will be available for purchase. Entertainment will be provided on the mezzanine by Western New York’s most popular German band, The Frankfurters!
Come out and have a beer, dance a polka or two, or just enjoy an evening with friends!
The CTRC was founded in 1997. Since it’s inception, it has raised nearly $2 million to seal and preserve the terminal. In 2005, with the help of WBEN, public donations and a generous contribution from M&T Bank, the original concourse clock was returned to the building!
The CTRC sponsors monthly public events and organized volunteer work sessions from April through October. If you are interested in helping out, please check our website, as listed below.
