"I think this is the most extraordinary collection of human talent [ever] gathered at the White House -- with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined Alone"

John. F Kennedy

So how do we think he would view the current crop in the White House today?

Then I spoted this quote

"The great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the government to control the governed and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

The Federalist No. 51, 1788

It doens't work does it.... Look at our county... and basically the crap we hear about in our local town governments.

The problem is the relationship between the governed and the goverment.

We've allowed ourselves to be governed, but by default. How many people vote? And among those who do vote, why do they keep re-electing the same old same old -- no matter how egregious the elected performance has been in office?

The governed are as much to blame as the government, IMO, of course.

I think he'd be aghast. He wasn't in office long, but during his time there he did not show himself to be an idealoge.

And while JFK took plenty of vacations, I'm pretty sure he there during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Bush would probably still be at the ranch......
