Somber mood noted. This war itself IS a joke. What's not funny is all these people dying and they have no idea why. The insurgents believe the lies of their clerics as many Americans believe the lies of the Bush admin. We could use a regime change ourselves. No post on this thread should anger anyone. Blame your hypersensitivity to these innocent posts not on us.

Sorry to, I should have explained my self better. Its my way to support my sons. I use only the Purple Heart stamp on all my mail until all my sons are home. I call them my sons because I am old Corps, old Marine who had no support when I was in the fight...

She wasn't "with us" so she must've been "with the terrorists".
No big deal. Just another Iraqi civilian casualty. (at least 40,000 plus and counting) Those don't count. Too bad the full sized image was too big to fit.

I hope the young men and women over there are not being used as political toys.
Isreal has been fighting the same terrorists for 50 years with no end in sight. Are we prepared for the same?
I think you defeat terrorism by taking away the cause and not with a conventional army.

Riven, once created and posted, you can't run other posters off "your" thread. I understand what you're trying to do, but the forums are open to all. Some of the early pix were inappropriate, but Mike's pictures aren't making fun of the troops in Iraq. They are expressing disgust at the man responsible for sending them there on false pretexts -- "bad intelligence" as Bush apologists call it.
Mike has every right to express his feelings on this thread; his wife's service gave him that right. Attempting to stifle him is the political BS.

TRUE. And Saddam was in a negotiating mode when we invaded.
He wanted US sanctions lifted.
This is an unending battle, as it stands now, and we can expect sons and grandsons to be called for duty. Iraq MAY be settled but that country can expect the worst for decades to come.
We can't keep going from country to country trying to find them, because they're all over. US cannot stand the demoralizing effects of constant death and destruction, and the financial burden that goes with this struggle.
