It has taken me several days to cool off before writing this note. This past Monday was to be a day that residents spoke up about the casino issue in Cheektowaga. I know of several people who have dedicated time and money to this project because it was something that the community as a whole needed to address. Even though I was not asked to participate, I showed up anyway. About a dozen or so citizens from the area showed up to make their voices heard. What a shame...... Something as serious as this, something that will effect everyone in the community one way or another and only a dozen cared enough to be counted. Over 300 hits on this site, over 40 responses and only a dozen who cared enough. Is it fact that as a whole everyone is ready to talk, ready to give their opinion but just don't care enough to get involved? It seems to be the same with many other things. People ask why do the same politicians keep getting re-elcted to office, why can't we get them to do anything for the taxpayers. The answer is really very simple, for the most part residents are great talkers, but are no shows when they are needed. My sincere advice to those is, if you're not happy with the situation get off your butts and do something about or don't complain, because the doers don't need to be brought down by those who simply just don't care. :mad:

The problem is Joe you are only talking to people that don't want it. If you were really getting out to talk to people you would see that the majority really don't care either way and may even be a little curious to go to a casino. This site is not a very good litmus test because there are a very limited # of users and unregistered users may not be users but a user. With internet polling 1 person can vote 10, 20 or how many times thay want to make it look a certain way. This is more for the blowing off steam site so far. We there wa talk of organization. But we all kow what happened. Sorry but it looks like there will be a casino some where in WNY. I will not patron the place because I don't get any thrill out of gambling. I just hope that any city official that signs on to this will take the time to make sure we are getting the best for the residents . NO TAX FREE , ONLY ON RES . This is the major problem I have with thecasino. I think it could be a sparkfor growthonlyif its not allowed to gobble up all other business in and around the area.

I agree that this is a very well organized media to blow off your steam and it is working well and doing a great jjob to open the eyes of many. My daily activities take me to many areas of the community and I have both business and social conversations with many different kinds of people during the course of the day. Just yesterday (Wednesday) I casually started a conversation with two young ladies working at the Galleria Mall in a very well known store. I brought up the conversatin about the casinos. To my surprise both ladies were totally against the casino idea. Why I asked, because it will kill the small businesses and the younger families don't have the money to waste on gambling. My compliments to both these young ladies. People really need to stand up and be counted. People today are being dictated to by their elected officials, what these politicians fail to realize is that they work for us, not us for them and if we the people don't do somethihng about it we have no one to blame but ourselves. So as politely as I can, I say put up or shut up.:confused:

See in my everyday travels I hear people saying they can't wait until they don't have to go to Niagara Falls. When are the Senecas going to get on with it and so on. I don't think I know anyone besides me that is thinking about the conciquences of this. I hear everyone talking about the jobs coming in and the entertainment value. But not seeing that this will be a small business killer or caring for that matter.

Like I said It seems as though we wouldn't be able to stop this. It is a freight train barreling through the area with a S#!7 load of tax free smokes, gas, and other goods.

Reason a lot of the people that gamble want a casino is they don't see the impact that it will do to small businesses. Seeing they are not the small business getting effected they don't give a crap.

I notice a lot of people don't give a crap as long as it doesn't effect thier paycheck. Ever notice politicians make decisions that effect the public but they always make sure thier paychecks are good.

The casino could be an excellent idea if the contract was balance in both favors of the indians and residents. In this case it favors the indians and the "State" mob.

ALL THAT MONEY SHOULD STAY IN THE community not go into NS coffers. YOu know they will just dip as many hands into as they can.

It's my community, not dennis's, not bendersons, the unions, it's the residents community.

I'm tired of the traffic through my community, the pollution, the light pollution, the traffic noise, the unfix roads cause by the over development, the lose of green space, the empty buildings that are up and down union road and being porked up the butt with property taxes. This includes county, property and school.

I'm tired of the police jerking the tax payer with overtime abuse, i'm tired of department duplication at the cost of the tax payer, and overtired now of various town employees that wouldn't last at a lemonade stand. There are some excellent town employees that state there are losers to.

The over development of businesses in cheektowaga did not offset the tax base to the resident to make up for the lost of quality of life for the people that live here.

I'm also very tired of the town board and supervisor sucking up to the seniors in order to gain votes. If they were truely helping these people without the benifit of the vote it would be a different story, but you know story, i won't explain.

Currently Joe doesn't live in cheektowaga but that is a recent development. THere's are a lot of various officails that bend the rules of where they live. You know it's true so not lets play stupid.

Now if you wish to debate, register and debate.

I'm tired of the stupidity that is throughout all the local goverments in WNY. Don't you realize you can make a difference and expose it? You will make better communities for your children and LOWER your cost of living. Why are there people in goverment that allow all this stupidity to happen?


We must not allow the indians to take our community tax revenue away from us. We must not allow them to compete agaisnt local businesses. They will be at an unfair advantage. This isn't an an advantage that any other business can take advantage of. AND, I do not want to pay out of my pocket for the road wear and tear and extra police cost.

As far as not being a resident of Cheektowaga as long as I have been given an OK from the New York State Board of Elections to run you and the Gabryszak people have to put up with me. This guy was so terrified of me beating him that he had his own secretary commit fraud to get me off the ballot, then he had two other seniors give fraudulent affidavits to do the same. As to my reason of not being in Cheektowaga for the summer months, thats my business and not yours, as the bumbling mouthpiece for Gabryszak , Mike Stachowski says, "That's Confidential"
As far as being out of the race, forget it. I'm in it more so now than ever before. Remember I still have till the 15th of August to file a Notice of Appeal and I still have the opportunity to run against Gabryszak as write in on the November agenda. The town issues are too important for him to stay in office and I will do all I can to make changes for the COMMUNITY, even if that includes making things better for you.

Why is it that people like you and Dennis look for nothing but dirt to throw. First of all many signatures were thrown out because people signed Depew as their address even though they live in the Cheektowaga Voting District. Secondly the three women did in fact purjer themselves. Third the reason I'm living in Clarence till November is as reported in the Buffalo news which " I " disclosed to them. I had a five year lease on the home in Cheektowaga, after a year and a half the property owner wanted to increase my rent even though I had a no rent increase in the lease. I asked a Judge for advice on the matter and he puposely gave me the wrong information. This caused an eviction and the Judge is today under investigation by the State Judicial Commission for possible misconduct relating to this matter. Forget about me giving out his name I won't take the gutter road as you and Dennis do. All I can say is that your entire crew must truly be terrified about me being around as long as I have and I promise I'll be around for a lot longer. Have a nice day and don't forget vote for Hajduk for Supervisor in November and maybe in September......... People who truly know me, know I will deliver on my election promises, you can take that to the bank.

We all make judgement mistakes, I'm far from perfect, I don't have all the answers but I get the job done. My eviction came because a judge told me not to respond to the papers being sent to me by lawyers, he said it will drive them crazy by ignoring them. He said I had a five lease with no increase in rent and that was that. He said only to respond to papers from a court because only a Judge could decide the results. This Judge handles housing court on a regular basis and I thought he was a friend. My rent was for nearly two years paid on the 1st. of every month not the 2nd or third but the first of every month. It looks like this was a way to early on get rid of me. The person who owns this house I was leasing is a friend of Tom Johnson and her husband used to work for the town. The Judge in the case as of this day still has not sent me a written order that I had to vacate that has to tell you something. As supervisor I will not be intimidated or pushed around by what ever is left over of the machine. I will need and accept the help , suggestions and advice from those who show they can be trusted to do what is needed of them for the betterment of the community not for themselves. No one, not one of us has all the answers, we all need each other.........

I often wonder where people like you come from. All you know is how to manipulate things to make dirt. As far as the Judges go, you and no one else will ever know how many times I've put myself on the line for the both of them. I've been betrayed in different ways by the both of them. Neither can look me in the eye for what they've done. This makes no matter to me at this point in time. As far as the newsletter goes, for several months I had to protect my confrdentiality and then when the time was prudent I did announce I was the publisher as I did on every issue that was published. As to finding a place in Cheektowaga, you check the back issues of the Buffalo News, Single Family houses were not in abundance to chose from. Over the years I have much to the community and the country, not asking for anything in return but doing things that others were afraid to do. Why don't you ever mention the millions I've saved and recovered for the taxpayers in Fraudulent Student Loan scams, why don't you mention the many corrupt trade schools between New York and Chicago I was able to get shut down. Why don't you mention the type of people I had to go up against doing these things. Why don't you mention the highest level of honesty, integrity and respect given me by the F.B.I. and the U.S. Department of Education for doing what no one else would do.... It truly is people like you that I sometime question doing the things I have done to make things better for others.
