This deserves a thread all it's own!

However, when he walked the earth as a living breathing reisdent of the Holy Land his views tended to be Democrat if you go by his teachings.
The sermon on the Mount for example. Or the Loaves and fishes, in particular. http://www.speakupwny.com/forums/showpost.php?p=380855&postcount=14

<!-- / message -->
This is a leap of faith like no other I have ever read. Jesus was a Democrat??? LOL

You guys have really lost it!
Sermon on the mount? There is so much there. I'll just start with.. Abortion and Divorce. Yep! I remember Jesus saying then how these are great qualities for Chrisitians!

Loaves and Fishes?
God multiplying from a few scrapes and feeds 5000.

OK I'll give you 2 bucks. Now all you Democrats go feed the masses!
What? Not enough? You need more taxes?
Not very Christ like is it?

Let's see who better represents the ideals of Jesus.
Republicans or Democrats?

Please provide examples and bible passages to prove your points.

Given all the brew-hah-hah by the Democrat party of Obama being the savior.
The gratuitous attempts too paint Obama as a messiah.
I'm shocked that no one has had the chutzpah to tackle my challenge.

Is looking in the mirror to come up with reasons why Jesus better represents a given parties ideology that hard?

OR

Does the question open up the reality that the "Obama" and the Democrat party aren't the Christians, they at present, are pretending to be?

OR

Is it the fact that once faced with using actual scripture, not paraphrased, scares the hell out of ya?

jesus christ wasnt a man, it was a brainwashing technique. NO DIFFERENT than the republican/democrat brainwashing technique used on americans.

Religion is politics. Politics is religion. You people need to wake up!!!

They all are. Everyone is born a libertarian. The problem is that the adults who mentor the children are insecure egotistical incompetent control freaks who teach the children how to be the same and worse. And thats how a country ends up religious, repressed, suppressed, and oppressed.

America today is just as, if not more, suppressed about energy, sustenence, history, civilization, earth, and outer space as the Flat Earth People of many hundreds of years ago.

Very true, I agree. We must now move away from many of these insignificant topics and focus on the economy and being more sustainable for all of our futures and survival before we all go extinct.

It is always interesting to think about those who are very religious and acutally think there is a heaven and a better place "after this world." If there truely is a better world after this one, then people should just go there right and forget about this one? Nah, the probably believe they are "tested" first here in our current experimental world and if they pass and make a different they move on? Or is there a quota like the many religions belive (Jeoviah Witness?) Any ways, I just follow the golden rule and live a ethical educational holistical spiritual life and try to make a difference in people which is all that matters at the end dispite everyone's "politics" and discrimination ("you").

This is the religion forum where such subjects are to be discussed, no matter how intolerant you are of the subject. If religion upsets you so, don't click here.
If you desire to discuss the economy, go to the proper forum for that particular subject.

You're confusing religion with spirituality. Some like to discuss their spirituality as it pertains to their religion. And thats fine. But...

Others already know and/or have accepted with absolute tangible fact that religion instills the human paradigm that drives economy and the incompetent and corrupt politics that the majority of civilization is controlled by. Whether that control is authoritarian or bureaucracy or both, the fact is it causes many conditions like bi-polar, hypertension, phobias, and delutions.

So, in order to discuss religion accurately, its extremely important that the discussion includes as much truth, knowledge, and wisdom as possible concerning all aspects of human consciousness whether the level of ones conciousness is different from anothers or not.

Now we know why one should not discuss religion and politics with people they don't hardly even know very well. Look what is happening on this forum.........

Just look at my home country of the Middle East! I guess we aren't killing each other on here like they are in the Middle East right?

I am so glad for the 1st Amendment! Imagine if we tried to bring religion into politics in the government?

News Flash: Religion has always been in politics in america. Its done covertly by being accepted in the culture, and especially forced on children in the home from birth. The First Amendment is a lie.

News Flash #397: The jesus freaks (kristians) dominate, but only in drone like numbers, not in common sense. Why do you think they are over there in the mid-east and around the world? Its to both, keep the muslims from spreading their mohamad crap, and gain access to sites in their hope they will be able to dig up anything they can add to their lies about bibles being true.

Trouble is, religions just dont slaighter each other like they used to so it puts a major burden on the rest of civilization.

ps - the ACLU is as corrupt and incompetent as it gets.

I've never heard a Democrat refer to Obama as any such thing...only Repubs who are seeking a justification that Obama and his supporters should be marginalized, like some sort of cult.

Dont' worry though...I'll try and make some time later to show you how you are, as usual, incorrect (and that you probably already know it, too).

Jesus would have come down from Heaven and booted Emperor Constantine's murdering a$$ into Hell changing the entire course of human history as Constantine, a convert to Christianity is the "nice guy" who BEGAN THE TRADITION of using the cross to symbolize Christianity, that began using Christ's death as an excuse to wage war against both Jews and Muslims.

Yes, Christ would have said, "no killing in my name, you morons! Peace, love and all that other stuff!

Jesus would have descended upon Colorado and taken Rev. Ted F-Haggard and every single other evangelical fundamentalist maniac back with him, making the earth a little more pleasant of a place in which to live.

If Jesus exists

And the phrase "And Christ wept" would be his most appropriate reaction were we to see or hear Jesus' as he surveyed what's become of this world.

If Jesus exists

Putting aside my doubts, my total disbelief in the New and Old Testaments for a minute...

From what I've heard and read, Christ was a man of peace (whose ORIGNAL title was "RABBI"). A man of peace who NEVER forced his gospel/beliefs/prophecies upon those who did not want to listen, unlike the door-to-door pests of today.

How many of you true, blue Christians out there CRINGE and get P'OD when you hear our politicians (and many evangelicals) screaming that God/Christ WANTS war, WANTS to punish all those who aren't Christian or won't convert to Christianity?

People that get upset when someone "takes the Lord's name in vain" SHOULD be MORE upset when the Lord's name is used as a poor excuse to wage war and bring horror, torment;Hell on earth usually to those least able to defend themselves against the onslaught of armed murderers.

Talk about "spin!" Christ's teachings have been warped, misinterpreted, taken out of context with PLENTY of Christ's sayings just "made up" for convenience sake-

Jesus Christ is probably the most misunderstood MAJOR figure in human history.

IF HE EXISTS(ED).
Which
I
DOUBT.

(This was my way of TRYING to be a little objective)

"Well, it wasn't good enough, DF!! Try HARDER next time!! Jesus is Lord and shut the hell up, DF!!!"

Aren't you just precious and demented to believe that your view is the only view that could possibly be the right one.
What a small and narrow mind you have.

So anyone who does not agree with your standard is far right.
That would make you far left and as looney as can be.

The far right will be very upset with you claiming I'm in their camp. I may share some of their opinions but not enough to make me far right.

You say, I'm unglued and insane. That's only because I don't fit into your idea of what is right?
Get over the grandiose vision you have of yourself and your beliefs. They're not that perfect either.

What a dolt you are.
