WAR,
Kind of confused here on this post. I understand one point that you are trying to make regarding certain people slamming Patchin.......but regarding the repeated Town Board notation...kind of confused. What was the second association are you saying they are slamming?
And what does the school taxes have to do with any of these discussion? Unless I missed something.....

Dear Desonii,

This weeks Hamburg Sun:

SUN EDITORIAL: Please support your local volunteer fire departments
By DANIEL MEYER
SUN EDITOR

A few of weeks ago residents of the Village of Hamburg received a nice glossy pamphlet from the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department.

While we are hopeful that everyone took the time to read what was inside, we understand that these days people are very busy and perhaps the information simply got put aside or possibly even mixed into that never ending pile of junk mail, which is probably reaching record levels given all of the political literature that has been mailed out in the past month.

Whatever the case may be, we ask everyone to take the time to hunt down that brochure and spend just a few moments reviewing the plea from the HVFD’s administrators and officers for assistance as part of their 2008 fund drive.

The continous volunteer service provided to local residents and businesses is something that many of us take for granted. These dedicated individuals provide fire, rescue and emergency medical services without ever sending out a bill. Consider making a donation so this professional service can continue.

Even if you don’t reside in the HVFD’s fire district, our other local fire departments in the towns of Boston, Brant, Eden, Evans, Hamburg and North Collins and the villages of Angola, Blasdell, Farnham, Hamburg and North Collins are always willing to accept donations from residents and business owners.
Equipment such as helmets, gloves, bunker pants and boots need to be replaced, emergency vehicles need to be serviced and fire halls and other properties need to be maintained.

In addition, these volunteers need to stay current with the latest training, technology and safety equipment. The various administrators and officers continuously strive to be fiscally responsible by seeking grants and working with other local fire companies when it comes time to purchase items by doing so as a group at a discounted rate.

Fire prevention education programs are also provided for members of the community, ranging from school children to senior citizens.

Consider sending a tax deductible donation to your local fire department today. This financial assistance — whatever the amount — will help ensure that our local fire companies will be ready in the future for our time of need

You voted against Eagan for once, big deal!!! all the rest of the Town Board Sheep voted with him.

and why would I a town of Boston residence give to Hamburg Fire Company?

I pay to much now for fire protection and you and your croonies cant even get out of bed to fight a fire in Patchin.
