You people are amazing, You use the frreedom provided by the men and woman i uniform to exercise your free speech, but how many of you have ever put on the uniform to defend the constitution of this great country! If we had been attacked once or twice more, you would be protesting why the US did not take action!! Why don't you utilize your time more effectively by going out and feeding the hungry and the homeless. If you don't like what this country stands for, the border is 15 minutes away! LEAVE!!!!!

Against a country with no connection to the actual problem? BTW, freedom is "provided" by the United States Constitution, not the military solely, practically and/or literally. Arguably one could cite the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII and, perhaps, the Cold War where "freedom" was actively protected by the military. But it has never provided it. The Constitution and the Constitution alone does that.
Why don't you utilize your time more effectively by going out and feeding the hungry and the homeless.
The "freedom" to essentially do with your time what you wish? Maybe the imperialism and war crimes bother some people.
If you don't like what this country stands for, the border is 15 minutes away! LEAVE!!!!!
What does this country stand for? Maybe you should find out for yourself before you start telling others to leave. It's a free country for everyone, not just people who agree with you. Like I said, maybe you should investigate the principles and philosophy this country was founded on. "If you don't like it? Leave" was not one of those guiding principles. Most of them would have probably left the colonies if that had been the case, no?

First, Let me apologize, you are right people can think and choose as they like! So lets just say that we can agree to disagree!

Jeffrey Sell went off in a different direction to say the least. What the hell does McAmnesty have to do with that rant?
Just curious, how was it back in 2000 that the GOP felt bush jr., a national guard warrior, who protected the Gulf Coast from a North Vietnamese invasion, was more of a leader during wartime, than a former, P.O.W., U.S. military veteran, like John McCain? Why is it now that they feel, eight years later, we're still at war, this man, McCain, is the right choice?

Because people felt 'Dubya was the kind of guy they would want to "have a beer with" (even though he is a dry drunk) and he was a moron (i.e. easily pliable.)
Also, being a POW has nothing to do with the qualifications of being President of the United States. Seriously, go look at the post-prisoner histories of a lot of POWs. They suffered more than any of us can imagine and most still exhibit, in one way or another, the injuries they sustained.

Well. . . yes and no. The military has not provided any of us with anything. Everything provided to and by this country is done so by The Constitution, not the military.

You are correct! But it is the military as well as are elected officials that are sworn to uphold and defend the constitution. I think we would all agree if it was not for the brave men and woman in WWII that we would probably speaking German and have no personal freedoms as provided by the Constitution.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Senator John McCain's fundraising event at the Albright Knox Art Gallery was very different from his first event with more than 100 protestors gathering to let their voices be heard.
Hours before presidential hopeful, Republican John McCain arrived in the Queen City, protestors were positioned outside of the Albright Knox Art Gallery.
Marylou Kehoe said, "He's the same as George Bush. If we go for McCain, we're going for another four years of George Bush."
Most we're protesting McCain's stance on the War on Terror. Some were also unhappy with his fundraising in western New York.
Protester Elea Mihon said, "This country has entered into a largely war induced deficit and in America's second poorest city, Buffalo, he is here to collect a million dollars."
McCain largely ignored the dozens of protestors by quickly slipping past and into a maintenance entrance at the art gallery.
As McCain left, the protestors tried to move down the street to get within shouting distance of the Republican senator. However, most were only able to get a quick glimpse.
Story by Jericka Duncan, WIVB.
This story is from WIVB, Channel 4 news. I have seen estimates ranging from dozens to 200 protesters. There were also around 200 people that were for McCain and paid a boatload of money to see him.

Was anyone outside on Meadow Dr. when McCain was getting heckled?
I ask b/c I saw a snippet of it on the news last night. Someone was yelling that he wouldn't win NY anyway...blah blah...
And on the news report, he had his thumbs up with this really weird expression on his face. It was the kind of look someone who is sticking their tongue out might have, only his tongue was still in his mouth. It almost looked like he was engaging the hecklers and trying to send a message back to them.
My question was, was that moment supposed to be as arrogant looking on McCain's part as it appeared on tv, or was he really just giving a "thumbs up" sign to supporters in the crowd?

That was, seriously, about the strangest look I've ever seen on a human being in my life. And, I once rode an elevator with Carrot Top.

Exactly.
Grab free money from the cream of the 2nd poorest city in the United States with a forced smile, red, puffy cheeks and ban the news and public from his (McCain's) visit.
But I heard that when Cheney visited Buffalo, it was VERY secretive and protected (KIND of understandable as he's the VP)
But Al Gore didn't have to "hide" from the public like Cheney (and McCain)
Why donate $10K to a campaign that has little chance of winning (outside of voting machine/program tampering-Again)?
All I could think of
1) "What a sad waste of money"
and
2) "WHY are they (campaign donors) praising McCain?
(Which goes back to question #1)
Regarding the protest, on the positive side,
The C.I.A., F.B.I. and other vanguards of justice have a few dozen NEW names, faces and voices to add to their constantly-growing TERRORIST database
I have never nor will ever publicly protest ANYTHING
but my admiration goes out to those who excercised a basic right upon which our country was founded.
Of course nothing changed. McCain STILL wants to be Bush III.
The protestors wanted to show their disgust and anger over McCain's support of the Iraq occupation and what a rotten jerk he is too, probably.
The protestors' presence was just as legit
as
The vocal McCain supporters (how much were they paid?)
