Have you ever gone?
What are it's good aspects?
What are it's not so good aspects?
Did it work?
If it did work, have you kept the weight off?
Would you recommend it?
If so, why?
If not, why not?

Personally, I have not, however, I know a lot of people who went through WW and really liked it a lot. What happens is that it teaches you to balance your diet by using a point system that you can carry with you (in your head) for the rest of your life...So, periodically, if they needed a little maintenance, they were able to call on that point system to help them drop a few.

If not, why not?mesue , I'm on a moderated South Beach Diet , (it's nothing like that crazy Atkins Diet) , & I have lost 35 pounds from August of last year , however my wife has not been able to lose on this diet (she does "cheat" more then I though....;) ) , she has done her best at weight loss via Weight Watchers , once lost approx. 45/50 pounds , put back about 25 of it because she went off of it.........but I think it's pretty good esp. for women , & MD's recommend it quite a lot , good luck:) P.S. my wife is going to go back on Weight Watchers , she'll do well........

http://www.starling-fitness.com/archives/2005/08/30/what-you-need-to-know-about-weight-watchers/ good link bpp , but I've found that WW is not as good for men (as for women) as it seems to stifle the immunity system (men's) from lack of or the amount of certain foods . Seems there's a lack of protein in the "frozen" WW food (even though they taste very good)........& my "other" health no.'s (i.e. cholesterol , BP , triglycerides , etc.) are far better on the SBD...........My MD likes WW , SBD , & the Mediterranean Diet the most..........

I know of people who have had success with both WW and South Beach. Some people may have a tough time getting started and sticking with South Beach because you have to start the first phase by eliminating certain foods from your diet. It can be uncomfortable initially (fruit, bread, the usual stuff). Gradually foods are introduced back in, so it's not forever. It's interesting, the things you might think would be healthy for you are so NOT. SB books are good reading.

I lost 20 lbs. on WW. Problem was, I was always hungry. The portions that you get, after figuring your points, were to small for me. I lost 20, got off the diet and put on 40. It didn't work for me.

I did lose 48 lbs. recently and have kept it off for over a year. Hopefully this success will continue.

Hypnosis - I know, I know, believe me I was very skeptical about it, but 48 lbs. later, I couldn't be happier.

Every time you consider eating a twinkie, have hubby stick you with a pin, say maybe in your forehead or your knee. Eventually, you'll have that "negative association" thing going on...kind of like when you are pregnant and a particular food makes you want to puke, and even when you are no longer pregnant, that food still makes you queasy....

I suppose that would work if I ate twinkies. I haven't had a twinkie in almost 40 years. I suppose I could start smoking again, but breathing is always a good thing :)
