If Hillary want to take the fight to the convention, it will be very ugly for the Democrat Party.
It will be very interesting to watch the fight over the rules of the party.
Popcorn and peanuts.

I dunno how "ugly" it would be. But it sure would be interesting. That being said, I doubt it goes to the convention.

I don't know. She and her husband don't seem to be the type to give up quietly. I think this is the end of them on a national stage if she doesn't win and I don't think either will be that quick to give it up.

Very interesting how a post about Maxine Waters wanting to Nationalize the oil industry quickly changes into a Hillary thread.

Maybe that's because most people tune you out?

You always seem quite interested.
More like you can't deal with the fact that Maxine revealed herself as a complete moron.
Or do you favor the nationalization of America's oil industry?

Well, I don't particularly care for, nor follow the actions and crazy statements of Maxine Waters. Though, I thought the "I guarantee" lie regarding the price of oil going down if we open up further drilling on Federally controlled land was an interesting "tell." I can't understand why you would hint at price-fixing in front of a Congressional committee.

More drilling and exploration in the United States is not going to substantially contribute to the overall world supply of oil, it would be years before it even came online and will not lower the price of gas anytime soon. So basically what he might be saying is "let us drill and we'll lower the price of gas." You're thick to think collusion between OPEC and oil giants aren't playing to market weaknesses and raking in unprecedented profits on the backs of $4 a gallon. I was reading somewhere that refineries are still pricing about $20-$40 behind the actual cost of a barrel of crude-oil (i.e. they're still refining gas purchased at $90/barrel, even if the price at the pump stabilizes, the refining industry is going to catch up with the market and prices will adjust accordingly.) Free market my ass.

So Maxine Waters endorses nationalized industry, a thoroughly flawed concept, yet we all dance along with corporatized and privatized government which routinely hands over it's responsibilities to people with the biggest bank accounts, who then use that influence to enrich themselves, the rest of be damned.

That Waters thinks socialism might be a good idea, is pure dumb. Though, imo, not quite to the level of a certain Representative that has tanned himself orange and cries over issues at the drop of hat (from stem-cells to tobacco legislation.) That's not even addressing the proto-fascist leadership he assumed from a rightfully disgraced Tom Delay or the vapid and decidedly unabashed obedience his caucus still has towards the interests of the few over the rest of us. If you want to talk about some crazy policies, look no further.

That an oil executive gets up in front of a Congressional committee and guarantees a price drop in exchange for drilling rights, having to know full well that the introduction of that oil will not substantially or timely effect the price of gas on the world market, is galling. I always assumed bribery was done behind closed doors.
