The way it works now is the unions have a huge influence in getting certain people elected or hired to positions. Not because it would benefit the community as a whole but themselves as the union.
I’d like to see some examples where the unions helped the community as a whole where it didn’t benefit themselves. THEN you can tell me government union employees are working to help the community who they are employed by.

What do we hear? It's the Law! It's the Law.. Well BS. We need to change these laws or abolish them. We owe nobody anything.

Not one person is entitled to anything including a job. They are entitled to a safe work enviroment and the protection from petty politics but they are not owed a job. They are also not owed continual raises just because a year has gone by. Raises and bonuses should be based on job performance and the community's economic condition.

I doubt that if your company brought in some people to do some of your duties and then a little while later they brought in more, either volunteers or for less pay and then, all of a sudden you are being told that you are no longer needed, you would just say... Ok thanks. Like I said... there is a lot of history here and by Collins putting this in the news media, just proves that he will not work with the employees or the unions, he just wants to play dirty and make everyone think the unions are the bad guys.

The point is, it's not thier park. It's not the "government's park". It's our park. Just as all the other parks our in our community.

When you look for service for your car are you forced to only use one shop or do you shop around to see what price you can get?

Exactly!!!
The people have been lax for so long and put way to much trust in leaders from the past who have allowed this to happen. "WE THE PEOPLE" need to take back control over our government that has been lost to corrupt politics.

Fortunately "WE THE PEOPLE" are starting to wake up and the corruption is starting to be pointed out and people are starting to face the consequences. The more government employees being caught scamming the system the better off we are. As long as they are replaced by someone with some form of morals.

As I read over and over again the complaints about NYS and WNY politics. I can't help but laugh. It's as if none of these very same points were never mentioned here on SUWNY or in the media over the past three years.

My God! Was everybody sleeping? Some of us tried very hard to motivate the public on wasteful and corrupt governance in NYS and Erie County but the voters here would have none of that. They want the governance of socialism in NYS and that is what we're going to get.

The only solution is to leave this place for a state that does not believe that socialism is the answer.

NYS and Erie County are going to get worse not better.

Collins will be sued on every policy change he wishes to make and will find no support in the legislature. Why should he? It's Democrat controlled. A true Republican, which Giambra was not, can not move forward smaller government when the government and those dependent upon it are the largest voting block.

Why the public elected him to office is a mystery. When they elected a Democrat controlled legislative body it doesn't make sense that the public would then vote Republican for the head seat. Some Freudian way of balance I suppose.
