Myself and others pursue the hope of getting out of the Illegal and Preemptive occupation of Iraq as soon as possible. How dare we believe the lie that it is a War !! I guess if something is shouted in your ears long enough one can start to think what the MSM shoves at us. I refuse to accept that. I hope Buffalo folks are planning some sort of demonstration to mark their concern. 5 years later and the loss of lives continues on. What a Farce !!
This coming Wednesday marks the fifth anniversary of the American invasion of Iraq that has cost the lives of 4,000 American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, not to mention the hundreds of billions of dollars that have been wasted on a pointless war rather than being spent on our own country's needs. Antiwar actions are planned all over the country that day, including Olean and Wellsville.
Those who live in or around Olean should meet in front of Rep. Randy Kuhl's office at 700 W. Main Street at 5:00 on Wednesday; those for whom Wellsville is more convenient should meet at 5:15 in front of the library. In Olean, we will be holding a huge banner that says "Five Years of Pointless War: Out With Kuhl, In With Massa!" Randy Kuhl, our Congressional representative, has voted to support the war every chance that he has gotten since he was elected 3 1/2 year ago, whereas his challenger, Eric Massa, a career Naval officer, has opposed it from the beginning. In fact, Massa left the Republican Party and joined the Democrats when he got disgusted with the Republican effort to sell the invasion while working on the staff of the House Armed Services Committee. With the strong likelihood that a Democrat will be elected President this year, we need representatives in Congress who will pressure the president to put an end to this useless war. That's why we'll be holding a banner that calls for the public to support Massa.
I hope that you can join us for this event. It's worth an hour of our time to do what we can to bring an end to the suffering of others.
PS: The event will be held regardless of what the weather does on Wednesday. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newole...yguid=80631432
