I was at the county meeting tonite from the start to the finish.

It was interesting to watch the brain trust we call the county legistlature listening to thier employers.

I saw 4 people from the boards at the meeting. Anyone else go we didn't know about?

I was there but you were not at the entrance way of the auditorium. I told you what I was wearing. I waited for almost 10 minutes before heading in.

The meeting was mostly cries of don't do this don't do that. Very littel intelligent solutions were given. Of course the legislature knows it is a bad thing to close the public libraries. The first 10 or so minutes was all about do not close the libraries. Yiyiyiyi.... SAve it people we know that.......

I liked the commented about the computer system that they have that doesn't work.......... Hey do they need an IT person?? Heck, I'll put in some routers new switches, I get the old information flowing right. I wonder if they still have the old delapidated UNIX computer system...

I think part of the solution is that better audit control needs to be implemented. The issue here is not with anyone area but with all areas. Medicaid is part of the problem not all the problem.
Poor Victor Getz is getting a very public butt whipping.

I went to the meeting to hear what had to be said by the community residents.

Of course the legislature knows it is a bad thing to close the public libraries.

But the good thing about this meeting concernedwnyer is that even though a lot of what was said by library patrons sounded the same... it was still open opportunity of people to share thier opinion, so whether it be 1 or 100 it was still their option to show concern for their nighborhood branch libraries. Be prepared to hear more about it because it will the high point of conversation at the next 3 meetings.

It was actually good to see that a handful of other residents spoke out about the other departments in the county like parks and water.

I would have to say, my personal best speaker was the gentleman who mentioned about the "tax and spend" philosophy.

I acutally peeked around for you but noticed everything was filling up. Sorry I missed you..

But that's not the point of the hearing...

the point is do people think other people are going to fix thier issues for them? It's has to be a group effort. Not a group of 5 or so.. That's why I'm wondering how many people from here physically went to the meeting..

Half of the county brain trust really looked like they didn't want to be here. And yes a few weren't even there. Would you believe that? Part time jobs with full time salaries and bene's. I easily see why they don't want to rock the boat in thier buddy list politican system. Some of them look like they been in politics a LONG time...

I'm also very surprized the "CEO" of the county wasn't there. Vacations can be reschedualed our future only happens once.

Oh would you believe there are people who acutally want to see taxes to go up. They believe in thier cause enough to pay more taxes. I do believe we shouldn't close the libraries when there are FAR NOBLER perks, benefits, salaries, patronage jobs etc that we can cut.

Oh what an interesting flyer they were handing out...

Every time I hear about the County Executive taking a 'holiday' I am reminded of that old county song by Kenny Rogers "You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille"

LOL- hehehehe now you all are going to be singing that song. :)

..."400 children and a crop in the feild"... LOL
