So, I ride the bus to and from work everyday, and in the winter, I always si in back, because the heat doesn't blow as hard back there. Usually, I'm the only white person in the back, but who cares, right?
Anyhow, today I was given dirty looks, told to move to the front, and called a white mother "effer" because the groups of black kids that got on couldn't have the who back to themselves.
In true Rosa Parks fashion, I held my ground, and my seat.

To be a good citizen I took a few minutes to get some info that may help you Riven....
People with agoraphobia often have a hard time feeling safe in any public place, especially places where crowds gather. Commonly feared places and situations are elevators, sporting events, lines, bridges, public transportation, driving, shopping malls and airplanes. The fears can be so overwhelming that some people are essentially trapped in their own homes — it's the only place they feel truly safe, so they don't venture out into public at all.
Agoraphobia treatment can be challenging because it usually means confronting your fears. Both medications and psychotherapy have been found to be helpful. With treatment, you can escape the trap of agoraphobia and live a more enjoyable life.

No one's crying. I made this thread to prove a point.
If this was a Funky or BTT thread about a black dude being harrassed by white kids, it would have blown up into a race riot.
No, it didn't bother me to listen to a bunch of whiny thugs crying because a white dude wouldn't give up his seat so that they could sit together.
If any of them had a hair on their asses, they would have met the challenge of me ignoring them, other than the glare of disgust I gave them.

Funky, you are delusional, and by far the biggest racist on this board! It's all you ever write about. Are you aware that there is a real bad black on black crime problem in his country? Having been a DJ at Groove Nightclub, a black club, right across from where this occurred, I can guarentee you that this was a black shooter. I've seen disputes like this break out in the very same lot, but nothing to this level. Last time I came home I witnessed a fist fight at 4AM closing time as Space emptied out. One of the fighters went to his car and pulled out a gun. I had to call 911, but he fled. At some point you must realize that a black person can be his own worst enemy and get off your BS racism thing. It's old.

Ask Richard Pryor (God rest his soul) about the tension about being black living in Peoria IL.
If it was a black guy getting harrassed on the bus he would have been asked "what are you doing riding this bus or being in this neighboorhood and he would have ended up being beat up and called all kind of racial epithets.
Did they physically harm you?
Did the bus driver fear you were in danger and call the cops ?
Or were you just afraid of black youth like the media wants you to be. hmmm

I've hung out at black clubs before, and having the table turned around where I was a minority was pretty eye opening experience. Now I know sort of what a black person may feel at any moment of the day.
There were a few white chicks and one other guy who was way cooler than me in the club. I've never had a problem the times I was in those clubs. Everyone was really cool.
By the way, I don't believe in the white, black, asian, etc races. I believe in the human race. And when the aliens land on our planet, we won't be worrying what color skin we have, we be happy that our race doesn't have huge f'in teeth to eat us.

First, Richard Pryor never saw Peoria after about 1974.
Second, there is no "white" section of the city of Peoria (like N. Buffalo could be considered). It's all primarily black or ev enly mixed, like my neighborhood.
The white folks fled the city to the far suburbs long ago, here.
Third, the word "fear" was never used, so stop making assumptions.
There was no fear. I thought they were ridiculous, like I think ALL "thugs" are.
You know, those kids that think prison is cool, working is lame, and getting as many women pregnant as possible is a good thing.
Who believe a GED is the same thing as a diploma and don't have an interest in getting one anyhow.
Or the hordes of teenage girls here that have babies before they're 17, qand don't see that as being a problem.
The ones who'll beat a dude's ass to take his Raiders coat or air jordans.
Who strut around with this "Gang" mentality that I personally find immature and reflective of complete ignorance.
And that is not restricted to anyone of any color.
My people went thru 100 yrs, you will never understand.
"Your" people may have gone through hell, but "MY" people had nothing to do with it.
My dad was born in Norway.
BTW, if "your" people saw how "you" people act now, they'd be ashamed.

I can find knuckleheads in every city and your point is.
I find it funny when you talk about black youth , when White youth are buying their music and duplicating some of the same acts even here in WNY.
If their parents didn't have the money or didn't want theri children to embarrass them , you would see more white kids having babies out of wedlock.
Children think prison is cool because hipkats like you who produce and film those idiotic programs showing prisoner "LOCKDOWN". Interviewing career criminals and putting them on TV , giving them 30 minutes of fame .

It's odd how American white youth attaches to black music so quickly. It goes all the way back to the jazz era. When you think of it, blacks in America have invented most our popular music. Jazz, BLues, Rock n' Roll, Funk, R&B, Rap/Hip Hop. What did whites produce? Lawrence Welk? Vanilla Ice? So no wonder white kids love black music! What's the alternative? James Blunt? Yuck!

All of those bands (great as they may be) stole their musical sources from early blues, rock n' roll. Which was invented by black Americans. I'm not discrediting whites musicians of not writing and performing great music, they just didn't invent rock n' roll or the blues.

Slayer, Voi Vod, Cradle of Filth, Disturbed, Slipknot........
All of those bands influences started with bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Those bands looked at the early blues players and stole their style and played it with a distorted guitar. Now bands like Cradle of Filth have strayed very far from Black Sabbath style of heavy metal, but they are still referencing rock/heavy metal musical arrangements. (Well Cradle of Filth references some classical music as well.)
My point in that our modern music could not have made it to this point and time without the early black American pioneers of rock n' roll and the blues.

I so knew your you were gonna say that. And you're right to a degree, but when it comes to the really crunchy, heavy stuff, there's no more blues influence there.
Actually, I've always looked at the heavier bands as having been influenced by classical music.
Listen to an organist in a churc (That still uses organs) and you can almost hear metal in it.
Zeppelin was definitely a bluesy band, but bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, et al are no where that.

I have always wondered why european america has always stole away from african americans for so long and then make out like they created it on their own .
I guess this explains the theory keep the black man down, if he every taps into his potential, how great a people they will become again as a whole.
Keep them divided and not loving self will keep them from accomplishing that.

Something that no one will give you, however.....

If you play guitar, you'll know that Judas Priest's K.K. Downing and Ian Hill influences were Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Cream, the Yardbirds. Which all those bands looked back to the old blues players. While Iron Maiden looked to bands like Deep Purple.
In art or in music nothing is original only derivatives of the last "new" thing. And it builds and builds off each other.

That is only your opinion that you think white musicians claim to have created a certain style of music and giving black musicians no credit. American music DID originate from the slaves singing in the fields and then back home for their own entertainment or religious worshiping. You have to keep in mind that mimmicking is the highest form of flattery. From the slaves music came the folk music which then led to country music and then off of that came the southern rock sound. Alot of famous musicians have black musicians as their IDOLS who inspired them to go on in a musical career or a certain style of music.

BTW, this is NOT an uncommon experience.
Bernie Goetz comes to mind....

That kinda sucks because I was really curious to find out what he was thinking to back up his statement. Wasn't looking to get into any kind of righteous racial spat with him, just wanted to be enlightened....

Half of the threads here have devolved to race arguments. It's really sad. There are a lot of racial basis and hatred on these message boards.
