Does anyone have the vaguest idea how many people the government (federal, state local, whatever) currently employs? The US population is what, 300,000,000 plus?

I'd love to know the ratio of government employees in this county to overall population. I think we've exceeded our carrying capacity.

I would LOVE to know the numbers of residents in Erie County that work for the governement in one way, shape or form.

Anyone know where I can find THAT number?
