Board votes to rehire fired worker, then prepares to fire him again
While reading this item in today's News about the Town having to repeat the very costly Anthony Canna hearings (at our expense), I'm wondering why the individual who is responsible for the cited "procedural error" shouldn't be found equally "guilty of misconduct and incompetence" -- perhaps more so?

Why don't we seem to hold our governmental employees for thier incompetence? Someone just cost the Town of Amherst a large sum of wasted time and funds.

Where was our illustrious, highly recommended GOP-backed Town Attorneys when the Board did not follow legal procedures in appointing a hearing officer in the Canna case? You can't blame the Board for their legal beagle's lack of ability. We should charge Tom Jones & Co with incompetance and fire them.

Actually, your own comment points to the reason that accountability rarely shows it's face at Amherst Town Hall.

The cost isn't felt by "the Town of Amherst". Heck, it's only money! If they run short of cash, they just claim that they have to raise taxes... easy... it's OUR money!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, most/many taxpayers don't understand that things like this cost them money. If they did, maybe they'd cause some change. (But remember, there are some people that feel that expenses shouldn't even be worthy of being questioned... even tens of thousands of dollars!)
