Here's an odd request -
I am looking for a farmer or landowner who is experiencing a varmint (coyote, fox) problem and is willing to allow someone (me and my wife) to hunt their land for varmints ONLY - we have our own land to hunt deer - we just don't have coyotes :)
PM me if you think you may be able to help. We are able to travel all across the WNY area, but please note that sometimes we hunt after dark (which is legal...).
Thanks!

Why would you want to eat a fox or coyote?

Why would you want to eat a fox or coyote?
For pelts, not for meat.
Coyote hunting is not easy. They're smart and savy.

No, it is just for the thrill of the hunt. After all, deer have limited periods when you can go out and kill them. Limited by time and method of killing. Or it could be training. Start the wife killing small dogs...working our way up to the killing of larger animals. OK, so coyotes aren't dogs per se, but they are canines and it isn't like you can roam your suburban neighborhoods killing real dogs, right?

Clearly nobody has told you about injecting anti-freeze in to snausages...

I wasn't entirely correct in my assertion that deer could only be killed during limited times and limited methods. Deer season using automobiles is legal year round (though not recommended)

SPCA employees aren't the only people allowed by law to kill dogs and cats:
§ 11-0529. Cats hunting birds; dogs pursuing deer or killing other
wildlife in certain areas.
1. Any person over the age of twenty-one years possessing a hunting
license may, and environmental conservation officers and peace officers,
acting pursuant to their special duties, or police officers shall
humanely destroy cats at large found hunting or killing any protected
wild bird or with a dead bird of any protected species in its
possession.
...
4. At any time (a) any environmental conservation officer, dog warden,
forest ranger or member of the state police, anywhere in the state, (b)
any member of any town police within the limits of the town of which
such member is an officer, (c) any member of the Westchester County
Parkway police on any park, parkway or reservation owned or controlled
by the county of Westchester or (d) any member of a police force or
department of any county, city, town or village in which such member has
jurisdiction and is regularly employed may kill any dog pursuing or
killing deer and any coyote killing a domestic animal.
5. No action for damages shall lie against any authorized person for
the killing of a cat, dog or coyote as provided in this section.
