I actually thought the Presidents speech was quite appropriate last night.

However, the pep rally venue was creeping me out.

Hootin and shout outs at a memorial service?

And this was the first memorial service that had been branded.
Complete with collectable stickers and Tee Shirts.

I agree.

Like I have been telling uptight reactionary people all along,, now is a time for clear heads,,, and to calm the blank down.

Again.... the fact of the matter was the perp was a nut job...no more...no less. Histeria!

I still don't like the references to a disagreement gone violent. Obama said we need to be less confrontational. So what does that have to do with a guy that is insane and that if he didn't kill these 6 it would have been something else?

I think bringing Kirsten Gillibrand was a political ploy. Gifford and her served on some House committee together, but I got to believe it was an excuse to bring a weak Senator (Schumer lacky) some positive exposure.

It was a mentally ill person that should have been identified long before this.

Agreed. It was out of place.

I can understand the less-somber tone, and the need to celebrate life rather than mope over death. I want my funeral to be a pleasant, happy occasion, where good memories are exchanged.

But I agree, the swag was unnecessary.

It wasn't a funeral. It was supposed to be a memorial service and I don't get the acting like a rock concert or sporting event. I agree, what was up with the "Theme" and tee shirts.
