I hear all this BS that Americans are paid too much. Maybe your right, some are paid too much like the teachers and the union guys but at the same time , why do you believe that it is OK for the investment bankers & CEO to screw the rest of us?
What is the difference?
Then you claim you are AMERICANS and preach BS about our socialistic gov't but at the same time praise a communist country like China that pays their workers $.15 an hr.
Oh, no they don't.. Well, ass holes they do.. I have American friends that work, eat and take a crap in China.. It could be up to $.25 an hour or even $10 a day.
Can you pay your gas bill or your $3.00 a gallon on that?
Quit talking with your ass. Wake up to the facts-- jerk offs. I don't make this stuff up..
58,000 Americans died in Vietnam so you can have your head up your ass and lick the Chinese government's asses.

Why do you think countries like China do not want full internet access allowed? They don't want their population seeing what is going on around the world.

Time and time again, I reference my postings.
So go look at all my postings.. SHOW ME WHERE it wasn't verified. I am twice your age and you can't remember or think for yourself still.
You should get off your lazy ass and do some research yourself..

All of here love talking about the free market, and how great it is.
And, the free market is great. But, it's global. And, it allows us to buy shirts and pants and things for the same price we paid for them 15 years ago.
We're all (hopefully) making more money than we were 15 years ago, but we're buying stuff for about the same price. So, what do I care if some kid in China is only making a few cents an hour?

We are walking a very thin line with 'global economics' and communist china in the same sentence. Throwing 'free market economy' and communist china in the same sentence is just plain asinine. These corporations that send jobs overseas to communist china are sellouts to this country. We are building up a communist nation's military that, one day, will be powerful enough to take back Taiwan. In doing so, they will probably wipe out our entire Pacific Fleet. Whose to say they will stop there?
Just this past week communist china announced cutting back exports of rare earth minerals, pretty much monopolizing manufacturing of high tech products. Talk about a huge blow to one of our few remaining cutting edge industries. While today they are content with exporting for huge profit, sooner or later, the U.S. could be cast away as irrelevant in their eyes. Much like our own nation came to be from our industrial past, multiple that 100x the number of people in communist china whose insatiable appetite for everything manufactured, and you then see how insignificant we will become.

Which has triggered US companies to reopen north american mines to fill in the void. A good thing if you ask me.

Hopefully it will fill some of the void and create U.S. jobs. Might not cover those rare minerals/metals not found on this continent though.
It seems as communist china's wealth and clout grows they will continue to harm our own. They have in the past and will become more vocal in opposing U.S. influence in Asia as their power unfolds.

Excellent point. Let's take it one step further. Would those people that are consistently anti-subsidy be supportive of tax breaks or general subsidies to help kick-start the American rare earth mining industry, to protect our economy from China's near monopoly? Or would you be against it and require they take the uphill fight on their own in the free market?

Of course the cost of living is less in rural China ... outside of the big cities, it's a Third World country. If you and your family lived in a 1 room hut without running water, heat or electricity with your cow and chickens sharing the space, you could live well on $.25 an hour!

And if I set up a factory near there, which would be better? Toiling on a farm or working in a factory?
Would you prefer hard manual labor? That is why there was a mass migrations to the United States and Buffalo in the 40's, 50s and 60's

The solution is stop buying cheap crap produced in China,, the great explosion of the Chinese middle class yearning for American goods hasn't developed.
If it did there would not be such a trade gap,
Again,, do your best not to buy Chicom junk....You will be doing their environment and ultimately ours a huge favor!

You do know that 1. the US is still by far the largest MFG in the world, 2. the EU actually imports more goods from china than the US. The EU makes up 20% of China's exports!

Yes I knew that but the US is the tortoise in this race and China is the rabbit... nothing lasts forever..Our trade deficit means that we are playing a big part in China's economic growth and not the other way around.
We will see what happens when the labor movement hits china like it did here...then again they USE their tanks.
Then there is the fact that India is still modernizing:(

You're right, that is the solution, but I think that the barn door is already open.
Americans obviously like their Chinese crap, otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
How do you suddenly tell millions of Americans that they should pay $20 for their underwear, when they've been paying $9 for all these years?
I guess the other option would be that our government could just regulate the price of all consumer goods, so that we, too, could live on 15 cents an hour. :)

Yes the current situation will continue until everyone's standard of living is as good as ours or our standard of living drops to everyone elses.
Clinton opened the barn door.. the only way to shut it ..is Tarriffs..Raise the cost of the product so that it is comparable with US goods..It's not playing fair but neither is devaluing the Yuan, or dumping.

No, the only way to compete is to be more innovative! Nearly ever drug, medical or technolofy advancement is created here in the US!
We need to continue being the nation that uses our brains to create more while other countries can just build the cheap stuff for us!

What everyone fails to see that wants a global economy is everyone in the USA will compete against 6 billion other people. The people who work for us don't care because they will vote in what ever increases they need for themselves not to be effected by the slow down of our economy.

The under valuation of the yuan is the artificial stimulus that the Chinese government is using to recreate the post war Europe that allowed for the growth of US based manufacturing. Since the US and Europe are not bombed out shells, something has to give China the leg up.
If China were to pay $4hr to make a product, all that would happen is manufacturing would move from Western China to Eastern China and then to another 3rd world nation. The US had about a 2 generation growth period, while Europe rebuilt itself, and China is simply trying to recreate that environment.
The other root of the problem is the 'middle class' thinks cell phone, flat screen TVs and designer clothing are all rights. So, as therising pointed out...as long as people are paying the same price for product today as they did 15 years ago...someone in the world is going to make 15 cents an hour.

Go to any antique mall. Look at most of the labels of where everything was made. MADE in the USA.

China is doing an excellent job of creating economic growth,, so good that they have to cool it down to prevent inflation.
There are other China's waiting in the wings as soon as labor demands increase subsequently increasing the price of it's product. everything is cyclical.

China's “SECRET WAR PLAN” which is plastered it on the cover of its December issue of Popular Mechanics. How this TOP SECRET info got into the hands of the intrepid editors at Hearst Publishing in New York on west 57th Street in Manhattan is not disclosed. But it reveals the sophisticated new technology of “China's most dangerous new weapon,” the (shudder!) antiship ballistic missile, or ASBM, “specifically designed to target a moving aircraft carrier.” Writer Erik Sofge says it could take out a carrier as powerful as the USS Nimitz, a 100,000-ton leviathan that carries 90 warplanes capable of making an excellent start at obliterating all of China, regardless of how that might impact Wal-Mart sales. Sofge speculates the Nimitz would race to Taiwan's rescue IF China attacked, say, in 2015. Taiwan, of course, is an island 100 miles from the Mainland, long considered the private property of every ruler in Beijing.
