Lockport boy allegedly assaulted by family pet
DNA is taken from pit bull to verify sexual attack
A disturbing story from Lockport where police there are investigating a bizarre case of sexual assault. The victim is a two year old boy. The alleged attacker is the family's dog. His name is Bear. A young pit bull being held at the Niagara County SPCA after an shocking incident Sunday. "Initial investigation showed that the family pet male pit bull had sodomized the 2 year old boy." Det. Capt. Larry Eggert says the mother was changing the baby's diaper and briefly left the room. "She heard some screams, returned very quickly found the dog in the act of doing what it was doing. She screamed apparently that must have caused the dog to become afraid." The dog ran outside, still attached to the boy. Neighbors stepped in to help, beating on the dog to get it off the boy. "July 1st started my 27th year here and I have never had an occasion such as this." Niagara County SPCA Executive Director Albert Chile has already received a number of phone calls about this case.
