Vehicle Traffic at 5 AM

I've noticed in the past month or two that passenger vehicle traffic is up considerably in the early morning hours. I used to scoot around my neighborhood with a jacker in sight (ht to ice cube), but now it seems that every tom, dick, and larry is getting up earlier.

Why? Do I have to start going out at 4 AM to avoid the riff-raff?

construction workers have to get their hours in and it gets too hot late in the afternoon so you start work as early as you can to avoid the heat. If you work inside and can adjust your hours starting early on nice days gets you to the beach park or whatever earlier. if your old and cant function in the heat your learn to go out early in the mourning or after nine at night to avoid the heat. then again they maybe out early just to make you mad

we used to start at 6 load the trucks drive to the job site have a coffee and donut then work at 7. to get to the shop by 6 meant I was up at 5

Summer of 05, we were starting work at 6am, and leaving at 2pm... Let me tell ya, our boss was NOT a happy camper when he did his rounds at 3 pm and saw no one around the jobsite.

then he bitched us out for going to lunch at 11am, instead of noonish... however we were the first ones there in the am, and if you recall, the summer of 05 was BRUTALLY hot.

Sometimes I go grocery shopping before work at 5:30am,deal with it. lol :D

No arguments there. Grocery stores are some of the most peaceful places in the early morning hours.

On the other hand, when some old fart gets on the road at 5:30 for his 10 minute drive to an 8 AM doctor appointment I have to wonder what type of prize could be won.
