View Full Version : Things really look bleak in Buffalo

I am in total agreement with the letter about "Bruce Almighty" and its inability to help the failing City of Buffalo. Only a true act of God and maybe some of his angels can help us. Why am I being so sarcastic? Well, look at the facts. The city is overtaxed, is losing people by the droves and is so financially troubled it is pathetic.
We have a good school system going down the drain while preservationists want to spend millions to save a broken-down grain mill. Does that make sense? Meanwhile, police and firemen are being cut even though there are many unnecessary administrative people on the City Hall payroll. Then there are all of the politicians who go after only what is in their best interests, rather than act to benefit the entire community. They do not remember the old adage: It is better to give than to receive.

How many times has Buffalo been the possible site for a new business, only to have it fall through because of red tape? I have yet to see this movie, which is supposed to put Buffalo in a better light. When and if I do, I hope that pride of Buffalo does last a long time. The way things are being run in the city, it may be the only thing we have as a rememberance of better times.
