Was lancaster surprised by this storm? They only had a couple days notice. My area, between siebert and lake, was left completely unplowed this morning. Kids were walking down the middle of the streets in tiretracks.

The plows normally go through at 4 in the morning, leaving plenty of time for the morning rush. But I guess this is what we get for our taxes that are due tomorrow.

It was the TOA Supervisors fault, because he cut saome money from the Highway department, and the Board approved of it. ;) ;) ;) ;)

Sorry, I could not resist the above Poke at the people in Amherst who Hat3e Satish.

I realy do not know, but I have found out in the past, that a call to the Highway department could get you an answere, but it may not be the one you like.

They're all over in this part of town. They worked all day yesterday cutting the snowbanks down so they'd have somewhere else to put all the new snow. I've seen them going down my street many times in the past 24 hours. But I won't tell you exactly where I am - I don't want to start something.:D

The town can't afford to pay overtime for the Highway Department since they bought all of those "luxury" SUV's for the police.;)

All the streets in the Village of Lancaster are well-plowed and clear. Even the main sidewalks are clear.

I noticed that the Town portion or Aurora Street was a bit iffy this morning, but that could be because of the wind.

Depew was, as always, very good at plowing the streets. :D

I for one believe - that Government needs reduction at the Town Board / Town Hall level.

Having stated that , From what i have seen we have a extremely good work force in the Highway and Parks departments . The over whelming majority of the " Workers " are both proficient at their jobs and actually care about the Town as a whole .

It is just the " Political Patronage " that screws up the works . We have workers with legitimate concerns and ideas to improve services - but they are stifled by the " Political Machine " they are forced to work around . Some actualy are forced to carry the load for the lack luster "Patronage Boys" plugged into the system.

So , in closing -- I for one say , " Thank You for being there year round." :)
