Do we have any butchers in the area that get meats from local farmers that raise their animals grass fed?

I want to start buying local meats, found some good farms but I am looking to see if there are any butchers in the city or first two ring of suburbs that sell the meat.

You can go to Lexington Coop. They buy local meats. You could call various slaughter/butchers like Simon Meats in Alden. they will tell you what is coming in. Also, a good Kosher butcher like Brown's Kosher Meats on Eggert may be able to help.
I buy local meats at various farm markets like the Elmwood Bidwell. They move the makert indoors for winter at the Lafayette Ave Pres church.

I didn't know Elmwood/bidwell had meats, that's really good to know. I usually go to Clinton/Bailey because it's rather large and close, but now knowing the Elmwood/bidwell offers meat I will check out that one, I think I know where that church is, do they have a playground? How are their prices, farmers markets are usually have great prices.

Wegman sells organic meat but I'd rather buy from somewhere that I know is local. I am not sure where there meat comes from. The chicken was a good price, ground beef was higher than I'd like to pay but managable.

Thanks for the info!

The meat seems a little higher in price, but it is local, by little farmers. They have higher costs of doing business. There was some sausage there last time that was extremely good. I also bought some rabbit meat.
I believe the church does have a playground. The winter market is open on Sat. Next block over is the coop, so you have some choices right there in the same neighborhood.

A little higher isn't too bad, especially since I plan on quiting the ciggs by the end of summer which will help us save a lot of money. 8.00 a day adds up. I would perfer to purchase meat from local farmers for so many obvious reasons.

Why not switch to "green" cigs? I'll sell them to you for $5 per carton. Hand selected blades of grass from my organic front yard. No chemicals.

Just joshin' ya. It's kinda funny that a person who advocates "green" buys drugs from one of the largest polluting industries in the world.

I'll stop trolling now. :D Havin' a little fun because I know you're a good sport.

(The offer for $5 cartons of grass stands)

You are so right about that, everytime I have a marb light I feel like I am kneeling down to corporate greed.

The organic meat is more for my children's sake than anything.

do you smoke in your house where your kids are? or in the car?

Never! I smoke outside even when it's really cold out. I never smoke in the house even when the kids aren't home and I only smoke in the car when the kids are not in it. We are getting a new van soon and my husband doesn't want me to smoke in it at all when we do.

I don't even really like to smoke indoors anymore, I get a headache whenever I do.
