BUFFALO, NY (July 16, 2009) — A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's Office gave a speech at the launch event for Western New York Environmental Alliance’s “Our Shared Agenda for Action.” Katherine “Kit” Kennedy, Attorney General Cuomo's Special Deputy Attorney General for Environmental Protection, spoke to community leaders active in ongoing efforts to “green” communities in Western New York about the Attorney General's environmental initiatives and ongoing statewide efforts to partner with the public to address the state's most pressing environmental challenges.
Environmental protection has been a priority of Attorney General Cuomo's administration. His office has led efforts to fight global warming, protect lakes, streams and other water bodies, reduce smog and other forms of air pollution, and safeguard our communities against toxic contamination.
The event was hosted by The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo and the Western New York Environmental Alliance, which is a partnership of more than 25 local organizations. Paul Dyster, Mayor of Niagara Falls, and Donna Brown, Deputy Mayor of Buffalo, also participated at the event, which was held at the Westside Rowing Club.
