Vote against incumbents November 3rd

Families all across the Lancaster community have had to make sacrifices and try to do more with less. Whether it’s the seniors who will not receive Social Security increases for two years, the young families whose breadwinners have had their weekly hours and/or wages cut or workers who have found that their workplaces have downsized, their workloads have drastically increased.

Yes, everyone seems to have to do more with less expect our Town Board and town employees. With a tentative 2.97 percent tax increase and no job cuts, our Supervisor and the board members maintain the status quo. And yes, the elected officials have raises provided for them in the 2010 tentative budget.

We have the Lancaster Airport Master Plan fiasco. In this situation, the Town Board was the lead agency in approving the SEQR which led to federal funding without a public hearing. This disallowed people in the affected area to voice their concerns while the project was in the expansion planning stages.

We also have the pre-election ploy regarding new athletic fields. One of the incumbent council members running in this year’s election presented the new soccer fields as being cost-effective when in reality they will cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

The coup de grace is the Windsor Ridge South development with the filling in of wetlands, the raised elevations and inadequate sewer capacity issues. What were they thinking when they approved this site plan.

If the people of this town want to stop the insanity of how our Town of Lancaster officials are governing, they must vote out the incumbents this coming election day.
