Christmasville, the brainchild of former executive director of the Lancaster Opera House Thomas T. Kazmierczak, began three years ago. This year’s event began a week ago with a tree lighting ceremony, featured a lightshow display that is repeated Friday through Sunday (7 pm and 8 pm) and also features 15,000 street lights.

Dawn Gaczewski now Chair’s the event. She, Lancaster Village Trustee William C. Schroeder and Cristen Gregory, current executive director of the Lancaster Opera House, are most responsible for putting the event together this year and in getting the necessary funding.

Christmasville is sponsored by the business owners of Downtown Lancaster, Apple Rubber Products, the Town and Village of Lancaster, the Lancaster Central School District, the Lancaster Opera House and others.

Attached are the pictures of the window displays along Central Avenue and West Main Street in the Village of Lancaster. The displays feature figurines and Christmas window scenes from the old AM&A’s downtown store Buffalo.
