When the Lancaster Town board originally made their decisions regarding Windsor Ridge North’s construction in a wetland, one would give them the benefit of the doubt and attribute their decision making to just plain ignorance.
One would have assumed that they were not informed enough to make the right decisions. Everyone makes mistakes, but most people try to learn from them. Fess up; move on and strive to correct them.
With all the evidence that is documented with pictures of the flooding of the Brunck Rd properties due to the construction and elevation of the new developments, there can be no denial that their decision making was wrong.

Yet, they are repeating their mistakes with Cross creek. Our Stormwater management officer should be on the site of the Stony Rd bridge over Ellicott creek to observe and verify the violations of the stormwater control plan. This SM officer is capable of issuing a Stop Work order for failing to adhere to the requirements of the code. Enforcement of the code is essential to protect the health and safety of the public locally and those downstream.
If the Town board makes no attempt at all to temporarily stop Windsor Ridge South and Cross creek sewer pipe installation by obtaining the updated 100-year and 500-year floodplain and elevation maps, etc that were requested by Brunck Rd residents and enforcing the stormwater control plan, it couldn’t be construed as ignorance. No one is that ignorant. That’s gross negligence.
If they continue to maintain the status quo regarding further development in wetlands, that’s bordering on criminal negligence. They already know what the outcome will be from their experience on Brunck Rd and are definitely not using reasonable care to avoid circumstances that harms the health and safety of the public.
