Sharing some storm photos

The media coverage on the October 2006 storm has been expansive, showing the ravages of the storm, the hardships, the massive undertaking to clear the debris and the concern as to whether the area will be determined a natural disaster and eligible for FEMA aid.

The town of Lancaster suffered extensive damage and many households did not receive power until yesterday (October 17th). Some are still without power.

The townhouse community I live in has extensive tree damage, but nowhere near as bad as other sections in Lancaster. We were indeed fortunate that our little community pulled together, as Western New Yorkers do, and was able to keep most basements dry and the elderly in safe hands.

Thanks to Council member Dan Amatura, an individual with health problems was able to get her basement pumped out and her residence made safe.

Just want to share some pictures of the storm from late Thursday, October 12th through Tuesday, October 17th.
